Creative Director provides leadership and direction for all phases of creative development work from concept to completion. Designs and implements policies and standards that reinforce the organization's branding strategy and goals. Being a Creative Director promotes excellence in design thinking and a creative strategy for services, products and programs. Interprets stakeholder requirements to produce effective creative concepts and designs. Additionally, Creative Director recruits and develops a team of designers, copywriters, project managers and vendors. Develops creative briefs and design concepts to meet the business objectives of the organization. Studies current trends and technologies to adopt the most effective tools and techniques across all media. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Creative Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Creative Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     HOURS WORKED: 40 Hours 


    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: 


    The Creative Director oversees, manages, and directs the creative process for the church, including weekend gatherings, media, and communications. To fulfill the mission, this leader must develop the creative individuals in our congregation and equip them to communicate our mission, values, and the gospel in compelling and creative ways. 


    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


    • Weekend Gatherings - Facilitate the creative elements of the worship gatherings by leading, training, and developing the creative teams. Work with the Lead Pastor, Worship Leader, and Production Leader to craft gatherings that communicate truth in fresh and creative ways. 


    • Build Teams and Develop Leaders - Manage the Creative Staff, including a Worship Leader, a Production Leader, and a Communications Coordinator. Build and develop a team of creatives to produce worshipful weekend gatherings, imaginative environments, and creative content. 


    • Manage our Social Footprint - Manage and oversee our social media and web presence, including website planning and design. Oversee and implement the church's branding guidelines. 


    • Media Production - Oversee all media production in the church, including, but not limited to, the weekly livestream, promotional videos, and social media posts. 


    • Team Projects & Collaboration - Work with the church and school staff to accomplish various projects and initiatives as needed. 


    • Ministry Administration - Manage the creative ministry's administration, including budgets, organizing relevant metrics and data, calendaring, etc.

    • Self-starter who shows initiative and innovation. 
    • Team player who works well with various personalities and has a consistent positive influence within the team. 
    • Teachable and approachable. 
    • Administratively gifted. 


    EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED: 


    • Ministry-related bachelor's degree.
    • 3 years experience in creative ministry. 
    • Experience leading teams and developing leaders. 
    • Proficiency with relevant ministry/media programs.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
    • Keen understanding of visual arts, including graphic design, video production and editing, and photography. 
    • Able to manage third-party vendors to start and complete projects on time.
    • Basic knowledge of worship arts. 
    • Proficiency in instruments would be a plus.
