Creative Director provides leadership and direction for all phases of creative development work from concept to completion. Designs and implements policies and standards that reinforce the organization's branding strategy and goals. Being a Creative Director promotes excellence in design thinking and a creative strategy for services, products and programs. Interprets stakeholder requirements to produce effective creative concepts and designs. Additionally, Creative Director recruits and develops a team of designers, copywriters, project managers and vendors. Develops creative briefs and design concepts to meet the business objectives of the organization. Studies current trends and technologies to adopt the most effective tools and techniques across all media. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Creative Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity.     Want to join our team as an Associate Creative Director, Copy?

    The Associate Creative Director, Copy will partner closely with the Global Creative Director and the broader Cascade Maverik marketing team to lead and execute integrated omni-channel campaigns inclusive of concept development, art direction, copywriting, site design, email marketing, paid media, and organic social.

    This role will ensure elevated brand expression and alignment with business objectives. Knowledge and understanding of current/upcoming trends in digital, video, social and retail are a must, along with having the ability to craft, maintain and amplify a cohesive brand story that sparks attention. The Associate Creative Director must be a team player who can collaborate, give and take direction, motivate strategic decisions, and always be open to ideas that come from others within the team.

    Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

    • Build a cohesive brand story that propels Cascade/Maverik to be top-of-mind in Lacrosse community.
    • Create original/strong creative concepts that stand out against the competition.
    • Drive, own, and iterate on the brand visual identity, photo direction, and tone of voice for multi-channel campaigns that touch all areas of the customer journey.
    • Execute copy needs across digital, e-comm, social, retail and other channels to support go-to-market strategies for all stages of consumer journey.
    • Write benefit-driven copy that strengthens Cascade Maverik’s leadership position, drives action, and generates conversions.
    • Work with cross-functional stakeholders to incorporate business & UX requirements.
    • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously while always delivering high-quality work.
    • Partner with designers, channel owners and leadership whenever needed.
    • Develop creative concepts that support brand initiatives, launches & LAX industry moments.
    • Identify real-time, culturally relevant trends and harness them for meaningful content.
    • Collaborate with marketing/digital/e-comm teams to deliver high performing creative.
    • Attend lacrosse events, productions & content shoots to create timely content for relevant platforms.

    Qualifications:

    • BS or BA in Communications, Marketing or related field- or equivalent years of relevant and related experience.
    • Minimum 7 years of related industry experience (creative agency, digital marketing, or in-house sports agency).
    • You have exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, covering an array of writing styles that meet business/brand/consumer needs. Including awareness, lead-generation, and engagement.
    • Able to tailor content and writing style according to purpose – to sell or to inform.
    • You have a compelling portfolio of distinctive work with elevated brand expressions and experience concepting and directing video and moving image, digital storytelling.
    • Strong understanding of IG, TikTok, TW, YouTube, Facebook, and other social platforms.
    • Up-to-date knowledge of creative best practices for relevant digital formats, trends in social media landscape, and performance drivers.
    • Strong verbal, written, communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly and articulately explain your rationale and evoke excitement with your recommendations.
    • Strong organizational skills, keen eye for detail, ability to manage multiple projects at once.
    • Skilled at working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment where deadlines, priorities, and initiatives pivot frequently.
    • Excellent leadership, organization, and collaboration skills.
    • Passion for lacrosse and hockey (with general understanding of both) is preferred.
    • Operates with a “WE” versus “ME” mentality.
    • Microsoft Office and Mac platform proficiency.
    • Travel as needed and/or required by essential job functions.
