This position is responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of Borough websites and web services.

Work is performed and duties are carried out in accordance with established policies, procedures, and Borough core values: Accountability, Customer Focus, Dedication, Integrity, Responsiveness and Teamwork.

Associates degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.  Post-secondary education or experience which provides the expertise required to effectively perform the functions of the position may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.  

Three years of experience in the occupational field, sufficient to understand the major duties of the position. Relevant experience includes performing work in an IT field; specifically help desk, scripting, desktop publishing, programming, ESRI hub site administration, network administration and/or performing professional duties that demonstrate familiarity with markup languages or scripting. 

Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Alaska for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

• Develops and maintains web interfaces for specialized tasks and projects.
• Creates final graphical website assets.
• Fixes misspellings and broken links.
• Migrates content as needed; updates content.
• Writes tutorials, and other documentation based on best practices and current style guide.
• Codes using web programming and scripting languages.
• Performs cross-browser and cross-platform testing.
• Provides 2nd tier end user web support.
• Analyzes and troubleshoots web problems via telephone, email, or in person.
• Provides oversight and functional direction of assigned contractor daily activities.
• Performs related duties.
