    Job Description

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Web Master, as a member of a small AGILE development team, will be working with HTML5, middleware, Angular JS, Bootstrap, CSS, and MS SQL Server to develop business applications in support of a government customer. The Web Master will work closely with customers to define requirements, implement business logic and refine applications. This position will also require providing support and troubleshooting to issues with production applications.

    KEY FUNCTIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

    • Develop custom web applications in an AGILE methodology using HTML5, CSS, Angular JS, Bootstrap, middleware, MS SQL Server to solve customer business problems.
    • Leverage knowledge of programming and server software operation.
    • Create web front-end user interface to new or existing databases using a combination of HTML, SQL, CSS, JavaScript, or other languages.
    • Formulate or define system requirements to develop or modify complex systems and web applications and workflow process applications, task tracking systems, knowledge management and content delivery websites and general web application portals.
    • Web Master will design, develop, unit test, debug, document, and maintain program code.
    • Leverage general knowledge of web technologies (e.g. browsers, web servers, database servers, DNS, etc.) and their interrelationships.
    • Troubleshoot user's issues.
    • Familiarity web development principals, techniques, and languages, standard programming styles and conventions, and basic web programming languages such as HTML, JavaScript, & CSS
    • Familiarity with web design and editing tools such as Adobe Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Photoshop, or CorelDraw, web basic web programming languages such as HTML, JavaScript, & CSS, web to database concepts and T-SQL, MS Windows based including IIS, XP, NT, Vista, 7,8
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience

    Bachelor's degree, or associate's degree plus two years of experience, or high school graduation or GED plus four years of experience.

    Special Certifications and License

    Valid Texas Driver’s License.

    Skillful judgment with out-of-the ordinary situations or issues; may make decisions for subordinates.

    General guidelines: requires a lot of interpretation and non-standard responses to varied situations; have to figure out where to go for answers; must take multiple factors into account; some control over priorities.

    Physical Demands

    Light physical effort involving walking or standing most of the time and involves exerting up to 20 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis.

    Responsibility for Equipment and Property

    Responsible for assigned equipment/property used outside of office; responsible for handing out to and retrieving property/equipment from employees and keeping inventory; use of City vehicle.

    Working Conditions

    Frequent travel associated with job; periodic situations that cause stress and tension in the execution of regular duties.
