  • JOB SUMMARY

    The Director Designee plays a critical role in the leadership, development, and functionality of the school. The Designee assists in the management of all programs, students, and staff. Their duties include overseeing the efficiency of daily activities and operations, for the before/after school and summer programs. Works closely alongside the Executive Director and is the primary point of contact in the absence of the Executive Director.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Essential duties of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform all the following tasks. Other related duties may be assigned.

    1. Oversees the daily operations and activities of before/after school and summer bridge programs.

    2. Serve as the point person for all school/center-related matters in the absence of the Director.

    3. Responsible for providing support and supervision to personnel under leadership.

    *Supervise staff and students to ensure that they are adhering to program policies. *Assist with the formation of and maintenance of all documents necessary for childcare and summer programs. *Assist with the preparation and maintenance of all required documentation for the functionality of the school on federal, state, and local levels.

    7. Assist students with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research, and other academic tasks.

    8. Help students to understand key concepts, by unpacking standards and objectives from the curriculum using scaffolding.

    9. Teach skills to improve academic performance, including study strategies, note-taking skills, and approaches to answering test questions, as well as identifying necessary fundamentals for mastering skills/lessons.

    10. Take the initiative in ensuring assigned students’ growth and development.

    11. Demonstrate best academic practices for specific subjects and assignments.

    12. Ensure that adequate student supervision and safety are being provided at all times.

    13. Provide progress trends of assigned students during weekly meetings and with parents.

    14. Communicate with the Designee and Director to create lessons and activities geared toward skill building and eliminating academic weaknesses.

    15. Organize activities and plan lessons for the week and month that are directly in line with current curricular standards.

    16. Review student assignments daily within platforms used by their base school and district for assignments, homework, and instruction.

    17. Report inappropriate conduct to proper personnel.

    18. Monitor student conduct and conversations to help prevent any form of bullying or inappropriateness.

    19. Ensure the learning area is clean and prepared for the next day before leaving the area.


    20. Ensuring that all students are in compliance with recommended iready, myOwn, AR, ixl, Lexia, etc. minutes set by based schools and teachers.

    21. Complete all necessary forms and documents in a timely manner pertaining to student success set by the Program Director and Designee.

    22. Attend weekly professional development meetings.

    23. Keep students actively engaged during individual and small group focal hours.

    24. Attend work regularly and on time.

    25. And other duties.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty at a satisfactory level.


    1. Must be 25 years or older with a degree in a related field.

    2. Must have 2 years of experience in education and/or education.

    3. Must be a legal U.S. citizen

    4. Valid Id.

    5. Pass a criminal background check.

    1. Have a master’s degree in a related field.

    2. Leadership ability to lead a team for a safe and effective school.

    3. Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly explain challenging concepts, provide instructions, and deliver feedback.

    4. Ability to motivate and encourage staff and students to improve their performance using effective goal-setting strategies.

    5. Creativity and flexibility to personalize their learning approach for individual


    students.

    6. Patience and compassion for students as they develop skills and improve their performance.

    7. Must have an outgoing and warm personality.

    9. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and able to manage time well.

    Position may work schedule not contained within a typical school day. Occasionally perform work beyond a standard 40-hour work week when workload requires. The work environment is in

    a school that combines a standard office setting including standard office equipment (fax, copier, phone, computer, etc.) with the standard school setting. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate and occasionally high. Employees may be briefly exposed to physical danger, viruses, pathogens, and bacteria.

    Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Sundays and Saturdays. Compensation is $12.50 - $18.50/hour.
