Creative Manager is responsible for managing all phases of creative development work from concept to completion. Oversees the creation of art, photo, copy, and layout for creative projects. Being a Creative Manager implements policies and standards that reinforce the organization's branding strategy and quality goals. Manages and develops a team of designers, copywriters, project managers and vendors. Additionally, Creative Manager leads the development of creative briefs and utilizes design methodologies that meet the business objectives and timelines of the organization and stakeholders. Evaluates and adopts the most effective tools and techniques across all media. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Creative Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES:
The Creative Manager is responsible for working with internal and external stakeholders consulting and executing on concept, design style, format, production and timelines for projects including, but not limited to, printed and digital informational and marketing materials, College merchandise or signage, promotional and educational videos, and special event promotional materials. The Manager will serve as a brand ambassador to ensure the College’s brand standards are upheld in all materials and correspondence for internal and external audiences. The Manager will be part of the creative marketing team, assisting in the development of marketing campaigns and college creative materials.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Efficiently develops range of creative assets across graphic design, video, social, and more aligning to brand guidelines and project outline.
2. Constructs creative designs, discusses improvements, obtains approval, and prepares final layouts for production.
3. Manages creative production directly with vendors, resolving any artwork issues that arise.
4. Creates original designs for a variety of collateral and communication platforms.
5. Leads design strategies and campaigns from inception through the review process. Works independently on assigned projects, collaborating with Marketing Director and project initiators as needed.
6. Follows a development timeline to ensure tasks are being completed on time
7. Develops creative file system and manages ongoing library of assets.
8. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
KEY COMPETENCIES:
1. Excellent creative platform skills including proficiency in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Microsoft Office.
2. Must be able to work within a project management system, intaking, editing, communicating, and finalizing projects within designated program.
3. Good technical skills in photography and videography, including video editing. (for example Adobe Premier, Premiere Rush).
4. Must be able to work effectively and independently in project management software
5. Strong decision making ability; must be able to make decisions quickly and soundly in a challenging environment.
6. Ability to align and propose high level copy for corresponding creative.
7. High degree of creativity, and problem-solving skills.
8. Effective communication skills (both written and oral).
9. Ability to prioritize tasks to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
10. Ability to work independently; as well as within a team.
11. Demonstrate the ability to problem solve and work with leadership to come up with creative solutions throughout the creative process and be able to pivot at any given time.
12. Strict attention to detail required. Outstanding organizational, project management and archiving skills are a must
