Creative Manager is responsible for managing all phases of creative development work from concept to completion. Oversees the creation of art, photo, copy, and layout for creative projects. Being a Creative Manager implements policies and standards that reinforce the organization's branding strategy and quality goals. Manages and develops a team of designers, copywriters, project managers and vendors. Additionally, Creative Manager leads the development of creative briefs and utilizes design methodologies that meet the business objectives and timelines of the organization and stakeholders. Evaluates and adopts the most effective tools and techniques across all media. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Creative Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Creative Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Position Summary
    The Creative Services and Graphic Design Specialist is responsible for graphic design, social media, and creative needs of the University. This position provides services to all stakeholders of UIU through understanding the university’s brand guidelines, mission, and objectives. The position's duties include maintaining and strengthening the social media presence as well as handling requests for various areas within the university.

    Position Responsibilities
    • Collaborate with the Graphics Services Director to manage design requests to meet multiple deadlines and manage pipeline of projects
    • Translate creative concepts into modern and effective visual designs for print, digital, social, and other media channels that reflect the university’s brand and creative direction
    • Bring a fresh perspective to the design and development of print collateral including magazines, brochures, programs, postcards, direct mail pieces, posters and a variety of other projects as assigned.
    • Provide design elements for multimedia projects including web pages, web ads, e-newsletters, videos, etc.
    • Oversee University brand guidelines, ensuring graphic design best practices are followed, and maintain brand identity, including logo usage, color palette, templated pieces, etc.
    • Assist with University photography needs; photos of campus events, as well as helping to maintain an internal library of photos that can be used in a variety of marketing channels
    • Design a range of outreach materials in the form of branding, information campaigns, presentation graphics, social media marketing, and web design
    • Maintain a content calendar and supporting resources for Social Media, to create consistent and fresh social media posts across all platforms
    • Create email templates and messages, collaborating with project stakeholders where needed.
    • Collaborate with Print Shop area to ensure appropriate design standards are being met university-wide; serve as back-up in Print Shop area when needed.
    • Stay abreast of best practices, trends, and new innovations in design, content generation/development, and technology in order to help formulate ideas and drive creativity.
    • Supports all functions of OCM objectives and goals, as assigned.
    Essential Functions
    • Ability to efficiently operate a personal computer and associated software (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
    • Ability to efficiently use graphic design and printing service software (Adobe Suite: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Fiery, etc.).
    • Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately.
    • Ability to demonstrate professional behavior with all University constituents.
    • Ability to work in a highly productive team that is positive and cooperative in a supportive environment.
    • Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations, the University community, and the public.
    • Ability to maintain records accurately.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining quality outputs.

    Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field.
    • Experience working with Adobe Suite; Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop
    • Experience working with the primary social media platforms to include, but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, and SnapChat
    • Photography background or basic working knowledge of photography

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Two years of practical experience in graphic design, print management or social media marketing.
