Job Description: Credit Administration Officer
Department: Lending
Status: Full time
Description: The Credit Administration Officer is responsible for managing and coordinating the clerical, administrative processing and underwriting functions of the bank’s lending operation. Develops, defines, recommends, and supervises overall policies and procedures. Provides advice and guidance to others engaged in loan activities to ensure that loans are properly processed and that adequate controls are maintained. Attends and maintains loan officer training. Works with the Compliance Officer to insure regulatory compliance is in place.
Responsibilities: This position reports directly to the Chief Lending Officer.

Supervisor of personnel in the Loan Department – areas will be designated at hire

Hires, assigns & approves work, assures training is implemented and performs annual reviews with personnel

Identifies responsibility for customer satisfaction with timely, complete and through processing of loans for bank lenders

Reviews all loan proposals prior to their submission to Loan Committee and/or Credit Administration Committee and Has ability to stop loans in process if sufficient documentation is not available or the loan does not meet the requirements of the bank’s loan policy

Assures the adherence to all established loan policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines for compliance. Point of Contact for Credit Administration functions in relations to Internal Audits, External Audits and Regulatory CRA and Safety and Soundness Exams.

Works in junction with the Credit Risk Department to maintain and report the status of delinquent financial statements via tracking system

Work collaboratively to implement and revise loan policies while assisting senior management in interpreting and applying loan policy

Oversight of loan processing, loan servicing activities and collateral administration.

Responsible for evaluating and developing workflow/processes that provide for the most effective, efficient and compliant loan administration possible

Create and maintain loan exception reports to track loans with pertinent deficiencies.

Establish and manage loan servicing area to deal with routine customer inquiries related to their loan accounts
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree from four-year institution plus additional lending, compliance and audit related training

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in banking, lending, loan review and/or compliance or equivalent education in bank compliance procedures and policies

Computer proficiency with understanding bank loan systems, lending related software, secondary market operations and the lending process in general

Clear communication skills

Familiarity with Microsoft Office

Ability to work in a team environment

Strong multi-tasking skills

Strong organizational skills

Physical Demands: This position is largely a sedentary role, requiring the ability to use typical office equipment such as a computer, laptop and cell phone, with most work completed in a professional office environment. The ability to travel to other locations is required.
