  • Duties

    Provides general administrative, technical, and operational support in the Marketing Office. Works directly for the Marketing Director to provide assistance, as needed, to the various elements of the marketing program. Schedules the preparation and distribution of marketing and publicity-type materials in and around Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. Receives, assigns, tracks, and closes work orders. Develops systematic delivery of marketing products. Assists with distribution, copying, collating, mounting, laminating, compiling packets, and organization of marketing materials. Determines the need for distribution of materials, including type, quantity, and suitability of products for various locations. Assesses traffic patterns to determine applicability of general and targeted marketing strategies through case studies, surveys, focus groups, and other forms of data collection. Provides detailed monthly marketing performance tracking based on research, assessments, and input from Marketing Assistants and Specialists. Assists Marketing Director with annual Marketing Plan, ensures implementation throughout the year and completes quarterly adjustments. Assists Marketing Director with preparation of department time reporting and payroll. Purchases, tracks, and monitors marketing supplies and resources with detailed accounting records. Schedules technology equipment maintenance and ordering. Assists the Commercial Sponsorship Coordinator with contracts, advertising calendars, mailers, routing, and tracking. Answers telephone calls, receives visitors, and deliveries; provides requested information/support or properly refers. Responsible for securely storing, distributing, and documenting acceptance of prizes for JBER Life giveaways. May be required to perform light manual or mechanical work, general office tasks of a simple and routine nature, and/or operate a motor vehicle.

    Qualifying Experience:
    Must have a professional working knowledge and/or education of the principles and practices of marketing, public relations, sponsorship, and advertising. Must have experience in the use of computers and MS Office products to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access. Basic knowledge/skills of Adobe Acrobat. Must possess clerical and customer service skills. Must have effective problem solving, good oral communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience that provides a basic knowledge of the rules, regulations, practices, and procedures used in purchasing. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Must have a valid driver's license. Must be physically able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 35 pounds. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment drug test. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 investigation. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.

    Education

    Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
