  • GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

    The Credit Operations Assistant Manager - Credit Ops supervises staff within the Credit Operations department. This position monitors the workflows of credit ops specialists through senior staff members of the group. The Credit Operations Assistant Manager - Credit Ops works on compliance issues, quality control tasks, establishment of procedures, and special projects. This position also advises on personnel matters including time management, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and recruitment.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Supervise credit ops specialists group. This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time.
    2. Oversee, organize and track the training of staff for daily tasks, procedures and compliance. This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time.
    3. Review and ensure the timely completion of overall department workflow. This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time.
    4. Coordinate with analysts on quality control functions. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.
    5. Serve as backup for functions that require dual control approvals. This duty is performed as needed, about 5% of the time.
    6. Perform compliance audits and corrective measures. This duty is performed as needed, about 15% of the time.
    7. Establish procedures and regular updates. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.
    8. Research and process invoices and contracts. This duty is performed monthly, about 5% of the time.
    9. Advise on personnel matters. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.
    10. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. This duty is performed daily.
    11. Complete required BSA/AML training and other compliance training. This duty is performed annually.
    12. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four year college degree, plus 5 years related experience and/or training, and 3 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    COMMUNICATION SKILLS

    Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to prepare and interpret bar graphs.

    CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.
