    The Senior Product Operations Manager is responsible for creating, executing, and maintaining product management discipline standards across a product delivery stream to enable product management excellence. This role works cross-functionally with key partners in the product development lifecycle, to define and execute best practices, facilitate learning to educate team members, and drive adoption of these standards. This role is responsible for driving a successful step-change improvement in product management practices to ensure our product development efforts achieve maximum impact in our market. This role consistently inspires, motivates, and develops others beyond their immediate team and achieves high-quality results through others, including cross-functional or virtual teams.
    To be successful in the role, the candidate must be a self-starter, motivated to define structure, establish processes, and possess the skills to build consistent reporting to measure product performance. They should have a combination of knowledge in product management, change management, operational execution, stakeholder engagement and consultation, and project management skills.


    Outcomes and Activities:

    This position will work from home; occasional planned travel to an assigned Southfield, Michigan office location may be required. However, this position is permitted to work at a Southfield, Michigan office location if requested by the team member.

    Process Improvement:

    • Drive product management practices across multiple product teams.
    • Implement processes that improve product management maturity and skills as well as elevate our go-to-market planning and ensuring commercialization goals are met.
    • Champion continuous improvement using innovative ideas to increase effectiveness.
    • Serves as the ambassador for Product to set and communicate consistent processes and results.

    Product Readiness:

    • Lead commercialization stakeholder meetings, communicate status, drive accountability, and facilitate decision making.
    • Manage program risk by identifying and communicating issues as well as mitigation plans to all levels including leadership and recommending solutions.

    Voice of Customer:

    • Creates an environment where the entire team is immersed in customer-first thinking and turns customer insights into actionable strategies and priorities across products.
    • Facilitate, capture, and use team member and client feedback.
    • Guides product managers with the processes and information to continually make recommendations and refinements to the product backlog based on learnings, leading to continued improvement in owned metrics/key performance indicators.
    • Promote client-centric value propositions and positioning to inform commercialization strategy.
    • Facilitates the gathering and monitoring of customer research as well as the competitive landscape to recommend the best solutions and ensure that products remain or become best-in-class.

    Product Launch Leadership:

    • Lead development, communication, and execution of comprehensive product launch strategy.
    • Work with Business and Product leaders to document and communicate the Product direction.
    • Ensure that boundary partners have the necessary information to effectively plan for, train, and support new products and solutions being delivered.

    Define and Measure Success:

    • Ensure the success of product launches can be measured and achieve business goals.
    • Define and build processes to track product performance using KPIs metrics, analytics, dashboards etc.
    • Assists product teams in developing action plans for risks and issues that arise.
    • Ensures the team is utilizing data with the right metrics to drive customer outcomes and ensures the right analysis is being done to prioritize appropriately.
    • Provides the Product Management team with the tools needed to analyze data through the lens of the customer, identify goals, metrics/key performance indicators, and analytics to determine product value.

    Requirements:

    • College degree or recent equivalent experience in a related field.
    • Minimum 7 years of experience as a Product Manager or related position.
    • Customer-first mindset, always keeping the customer's interest in mind when making decisions.
    • Integration mind-set and approach to ensure product dependencies and integration points are understood and delivered across product lines.
    • Inherently curious, results-driven with the ability to make difficult decisions, ask probing questions and look for root causes, opportunities, and solutions.
    • Strong written and oral communications skills, especially the ability to clarify and simplify complex topics.
    • Organized self-starter who develops plans and is committed to hitting project timelines; ability to perform with minimal supervision in a team environment.
    • Experience working according to Agile principles, sprint-based approaches, taking a prioritized, pragmatic approach to ensure the correct product gets built and delivered on time.
    • Advanced knowledge of product proposals, product roadmaps and customer journey maps.
    • Quick thinker, with an ability to understand and interpret information promptly and effectively.
    • Excellent leadership and persuasion skills and the ability to lead through influence without direct authority.
    • Experience interacting with people at all levels of an organization, including Executive Management.
    • Proficiency with standard MS productivity tools (Office, Visio, and Project), web analytics and pathing tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Adobe Suite), collaboration tools (e.g. Mural, Miro), Product management (e.g. Jira, Rally, etc.).
    • Ability to travel 0-15% of the time.

    Preferred Experience:

    • Experience and understanding of consumer auto financing.
    • Hands-on experience managing all stages of the product life cycle.
    • Integration mindset and approach to ensure product dependencies and integration.
    • Experience using data mining tools, customer experience management software, and direct observation to identify user behavior, design, and refine product features.
    • Experience and understanding of product development lifecycle.

    Targeted Compensation: $165,000 - $192,000 base salary an annual bonus plan.
