Credit Clerk evaluates and suggests creditworthiness of prospects and customers to decrease financial risk to the organization. Checks credit applications and grants approval within established guidelines for organizations or individuals. Being a Credit Clerk communicates with the customers and other departments to solve the credit problems. May negotiate terms of payment to assist with collection of overdue balances. Additionally, Credit Clerk requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Credit Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Title Clerk
  • Fort Bragg Federal Credit Union

  • Purpose:
    Processes lien security paperwork with respective state agencies. Tracks lien perfection, maintains assigned reports, issues the release of collateral security to the appropriate party, and conducts research into and helps resolve title issues.
    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Accurately processes collateral lien security paperwork with the appropriate state and federal agency(ies). Examples of collateral types include but are not limited to automobiles, recreational vehicles, boats, motorcycles, and manufactured housing.
    • Utilizes the credit union’s core processing system along with our electronic lien provider’s systems (and any other systems deemed necessary) to accurately track and report on the collateral portfolio and lien perfection.
    • Receives and records all incoming mail associated with collateral security according to established policies and procedures.
    • Answers member, financial institution, or state agency inquiries in person, email, or telephone in a professional and member-focused manner.
    • Troubleshoots and resolves issues specific to titles, and other related documentation issues.
    Other Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Attend individual, departmental, and credit union meetings as assigned.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

    Education and Training:
    • High School Diploma.
    • On an annual basis is required to complete mandatory Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and Red Flag Identity Theft training.
    Prior Experience:
    • Prior credit union or financial institutional experience preferred.
    • Prior office experience helpful.
    Interpersonal Skills:
    Courtesy, tact and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
    Other Special Skills and Abilities:
    • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
    • Good communication skills and the ability to explain complex topics or situations.
    • Strong proficiency with all Microsoft applications.
    • General knowledge of credit union lending policies and procedures (internal).
    • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including phones, scanners, faxes, etc.
    Physical Demands:
    The need for physical stamina is low to moderate.
    Working Conditions:
    Minimal adverse working conditions. Some fluctuations in temperature experienced in office setting. May need to work beyond normal working hours, pending organization needs.
