Checks credit applications and grants approval within established guidelines for organizations or individuals. Being a Credit Clerk communicates with the customers and other departments to solve the credit problems. May negotiate terms of payment to assist with collection of overdue balances. Additionally, Credit Clerk requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Credit Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. As a Credit Counselor, you will help consumers determine the best course of action to take control of their debt. Counseling sessions with consumers consist of reviewing credit reports, budgets, and providing advice and guidance. If the consumer qualifies for our Debt Management Program, the Counselor guides them through the enrollment process.
