Manages the building of financial models that predict credit risk exposure to the organization. Being a CREDIT RISK MANAGER oversees the preparation of performance reports for management. The CREDIT RISK MANAGER manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager.     Position Summary: Under supported direction is responsible for the efficient, effective management of the assigned Branch. Responsibilities include ensuring that established policies and procedures are followed, security protocol is followed, and existing member’s needs are met, developing and promoting new business, and representing Westmark in the community.



    Essential Functions and Performance Measurements:

    • Direct and supervise all branch personnel, including assigning work and scheduling to achieve maximum work flow efficiency
    • Work side by side with staff presenting as a helpful, knowledgeable, and experienced mentor  
    • Provide a positive and professional branch environment furnishing motivation and training to all staff 
    • Conduct timely Performance Reviews and necessary coaching/counseling for effective employee development
    • Implement business development by working the lobby and through community involvement
    • Educate and assist members in utilizing Westmark’s technology services such as Personal Branch and Mobile Banking 
    • Resolve complex member problems the same day with the best interest of both the member and the credit union
    • Perform lending functions and ensure quality in underwriting and documentation are maintained for branch
    • Ensure compliance with all Federal Banking Regs and Westmark Operational and HR policies and procedures
    • Maintain Branch operating expenses within approved budget parameters
    • Ensure a professional appearance of the branch facility and personnel
    • Ensure staff has knowledge and tools necessary to achieve Full Service Initiative goals 
    • Monitor branch personnel to ensure excellent member service and to ensure Full Service opportunities are maximized
    • Actively supports Full Service Initiative and is accountable for branch performance
    • Submit monthly reports as required and on time
    • Perform limited duties as required by the Branch Administrator
    • Is able to interact with members and co-workers professionally and with integrity
    • Shows a positive, enthusiastic attitude
    • Maintains a reliable attendance record and take responsibility for your own actions
    • Represents Westmark, both during and after work hours, in a courteous, professional manner
    • Demonstrate a positive example in leading staff toward achievement of Westmark’s goals


    Requirements

    Required Knowledge and Abilities:

    • Goal and performance driven, achieves goals and objectives assigned by Sr. Management
    • Thorough understanding of Westmark’s products, services, and policies
    • Working knowledge of Westmark’s operating and lending systems
    • Understanding of branch security procedures
    • Effective oral and written communication, problem solving, and public relations skills
    • Ability to manage multiple projects with positive outcomes
    • Ability to use a Personal Computer, 10 key, smart phone, and internet based services  

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a financially related field and three years of relevant banking or credit union experience or; a high school diploma and a minimum of four years of relevant banking or credit union experience; or a combination of formal education, training and applicable experience.
