    Texell, named one of the Best Credit Unions to Work for in the nation by the Credit Union Journal, is seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Officer that will self-generate their own leads. This is a base bps role and is hybrid/remote for someone who lives in Coryell County, TX.

    About the Mortgage Loan Officer III role:

    The Mortgage Loan Officer III (MLO III) is responsible for increasing Texell’s Purchase and Refinance loan production by developing business referrals, attracting mortgage customers/members, completing mortgage loan applications, and matching members with appropriate product sets. The MLO III is also responsible for obtaining initial loan documents and needs list items from prospect and keeping all parties in the loan process appraised of the progress. This position level is excluded from yearly merit increases.

     

    As a Mortgage Loan Officer III, you will:

    • Self-source your own leads.
    • Attract existing and new mortgage loan referral sources by managing and developing existing and future relationships.
    • Participate in community efforts to promote home ownership.
    • Work with Mortgage Loan Processors/Closers and Mortgage Manager directly to ensure that loan documents are processed in a timely manner. Provide communication with borrowers, agents, and processors on the status of all loan files.  Attend mortgage loan closings.
    • Meet with prospective borrowers. Interview mortgage prospects and obtain initial needs list items to complete the loan application.
    • Review/Analyze credit and financial data. Determine borrower financing objectives and goals. Present appropriate Texell products and programs. Explain pricing and lock rate as required. Identify appropriate opportunities to sell additional products. Collect supporting loan documentation as required. Upload complete application and supporting documentation into the Mortgage Loan Origination Software.
    • Keep Mortgage Loan Manager updated on the status of pipeline and any obstacles that would prevent a quality loan experience for members/prospects.
    • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
    • Perform other functions and special projects that might be needed from time to time and assist others to complete tasks and work assignments.

    • Has demonstrated success of being a self-starter, can work independently, and can successfully manage existing relationships while establishing new referral source relationships that generate leads to build a book of business.

    • A good sense of humor is a MUST. Please come with knock-knock jokes.
    • Has a bachelor’s degree in business or related field and/or two years of progressive experience in lending-related roles.
    • Is experienced with Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Veterans Affairs (VA), and Federal National Mortgage (Fannie Mae).
    • Will maintain their registration active, and current, with the National Mortgage Licensing System throughout their employment.
