About the Role

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Director of Credit Risk  to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in small and medium-sized business credit card underwriting and risk policy. The Director of Credit Risk will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing credit strategies, ensuring prudent risk management, and contributing to the overall success of our commercial credit portfolio. This position offers a unique opportunity to be a key player in a fast-paced and innovative fintech startup.

Responsibilities

• Credit Underwriting:
• Lead and oversee the credit underwriting process for commercial small and medium-sized business credit card applications.
• Evaluate the creditworthiness of applicants based on financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant information.
• Risk Policy Development:
• Develop and implement robust risk policies to guide the commercial credit decision-making process.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and optimize risk management practices.
• Portfolio Management:
• Monitor and analyze the performance of the commercial credit portfolio.
• Identify potential risks and opportunities, providing recommendations for portfolio optimization.
• Team Leadership:
• Manage a team of credit analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure continuous professional development.
• Collaboration:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and operations, to align credit strategies with business objectives.
• Work closely with senior leadership to communicate key insights and contribute to strategic decision-making.
