Overview

As a Credit Risk Analyst with SIG, you will be joining a newly formed centralized credit team analyzing financial information for existing and prospective counterparties and clients.  The credit analyst will participate in the daily monitoring of the firm’s credit exposure reports and proactively assist the team with improving our existing credit risk management framework. 

You will interface with SIG’s trading desks and onboarding/due diligence team to gather financial information in order to perform financial analyses needed to make credit decisions.  

In this role, you will:

• Analyze financial information including balance sheets, cash flows, trade related agreements and prepare financial models to determine appropriate credit limits
• Perform risk rating assessments for clients and counterparties based off of financial analysis
• Evaluate trends in performance and initiate analysis to identify opportunities and risks
• Perform analytics on markets, company performances, portfolio and other data
• Proactively engage with trading desks and colleagues to understand underlying needs and opportunities and identify innovative solutions in a timely manner

What we’re looking for

• Bachelors’ degree in finance, accounting, economics or related major
• 3-5 years of experience in performing credit analysis in the financial services industry
• Advanced Excel skills (SQL or Python a plus)
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills
• A strong demonstrable interest in derivatives trading, cryptocurrencies & venture capital
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and work independently
