Credit and Collections Director leads the overall credit function. Designs and implements processes to improve cash flow and reduce receivables. Being a Credit and Collections Director develops policies regarding the investigation of customers, extension of credit lines, and collections. Consults with current and future clients regarding their level of credit. Additionally, Credit and Collections Director oversees the negotiation and course of action taken for overdue accounts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Credit and Collections Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Credit and Collections Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.   • The Compliance Director is responsible for the development and ongoing management of the Compliance Management System (CMS) that ensures Educational Employees Credit Union maintains compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Program.

    This position provides support to Executive Management and works closely with all departments and levels within the credit union, as well as outside legal counsel, as required.

    The Compliance Director reports to the SVP Risk Management.

    Responsibilities of the position include:
    • Ensures compliance with new and updated laws and regulations that apply to the credit union’s consumer products and services. Analyzes impact, and recommends or implements appropriate changes to policies, procedures and processes.
    • Participates in the design of products and services with consideration of compliance requirements, workflow, cost effectiveness, safety and soundness, and maintenance of appropriate internal controls.
    • Develops solutions that ensure programs and procedures are updated to minimize risks posed by trends, emerging risks and the changing regulatory environment.
    • Acts as the liaison with corporate legal counsel for compliance related matters.
    • Provides support for audit and exams.
    • Provides guidance in the development of effective solutions or implementation of corrective action for concerns or deficiencies noted.
    • Coordinates with the training department to ensure staff, management, & officials are provided with required training for laws and regulations and the Credit Union’s related policies and procedures.
    • Keeps management and staff informed of compliance related initiatives.
    • Ensures the credit union’s compliance with Bank Secrecy Act, Anti Money Laundering and OFAC regulations through maintenance of an effective BSA/AML Program.
    • Maintains policies, procedures, and processes designed to prevent and mitigate credit union fraud losses.
    • Continues education to remain knowledgeable and skilled in compliance requirements, regulatory guidance, the political and regulatory landscape and industry best practices.
    Requirements of the position:
    • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent, plus four to six years related experience and/or training in auditing compliance requirements for a financial institution; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Strong computer skills, including competency in word processing, spreadsheets and data analysis.
    • Broad knowledge of, and practical experience with, credit union operations, functions, products and services and the laws and regulations that apply to credit unions.
    • Effective verbal and written communications skills.
    • Ability to accurately interpret regulatory implications for the organization.
    • Compliance certification (such as CUNA or NAFCU) a plus.
    The ideal candidate will hold, or qualify to hold, a position as a Director, or have applicable related experience.
