Credit and Collections Director leads the overall credit function. Designs and implements processes to improve cash flow and reduce receivables. Being a Credit and Collections Director develops policies regarding the investigation of customers, extension of credit lines, and collections. Consults with current and future clients regarding their level of credit. Additionally, Credit and Collections Director oversees the negotiation and course of action taken for overdue accounts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Credit and Collections Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. The Collections Manager handles escalated collections issues and ensures final resolution for each account. Accordingly, they are responsible for making sure the department delivers outstanding service to both internal and external members. A key component of service to external members is to identify their financial needs and to suggest appropriate Credit Union solutions. In addition, the Collections Manager is responsible for collecting credit card delinquency and over-limit balances.
The Collections Manager must comply with all federal and state regulations such as Fair Credit Reporting Act (REG V), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (Reg F), Unfair, Deceptive or Abusive Act (UDAAP), Fair Housing Act, Fair Lending Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act (Reg B), Truth in Lending Act, (Reg Z), Expedited Funds Availability Act (Reg CC), Credit Card Act, Bank Secrecy Act, The Patriot Act, The Privacy Act, Regulation CC, etc., as well as all Old Hickory Credit Union policies and procedures.
Full-time Position: Monday - Friday, but could require occasional Saturday hours
