Credit and Collections Manager develops and administers credit and collection programs. Oversees investigation of credit risk in customers and suppliers and advises on course of action for credit applications. Being a Credit and Collections Manager designs and implements processes to improve cash flow and reduce receivables. Monitors and negotiates the collection of overdue accounts. Additionally, Credit and Collections Manager monitors credit and collection processes and operations; makes recommendations on opportunities for improvement. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Credit and Collections Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Credit and Collections Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. General Statement Of Duties:
Performs the full operational level of work in administering, enforcing, and collecting on court orders or judgments entered with respect to fines, fees, restitution, or any other accounts receivable of the court, judicial district, or Judicial Department.
Distinguishing Factors:
This position is distinguished from the Collections Assistant position by the wider range and higher complexity of duties and independent judgment involved in carrying out assignments.
This position will be required to work in both the Larimer County Justice Center as well as the Loveland Police and Courts building.
IMPORTANT:
The classified portion of this Collections Investigator position is .75 FTE (30 hours/week). The 8th Judicial District will also offer a grant-funded contract for .25 FTE (10 hours/week) through 12/31/23 to supplement this position and increase the hours to full time. After 12/31/23, the availability of contract hours will be dependent upon grant funding, and may be offered up to .25 FTE (10 hours/week).
Attends meetings and training as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisor Responsibilities:
Responsibility for one's own work product and may provide guidance, assistance, or mentorship to less knowledgeable or experienced coworkers. This may include scheduling of work, instructing in work methods, and reviewing work products.
Minimum Education:
Three years’ experience conducting financial or collection related interviews and investigations, credit management or related experience.
OR
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in the field of business administration, accounting, criminal justice, psychology, sociology or related field. Any equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to perform repetitive motions, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk/move about. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. May handle emergency or crisis situations; is subject to many interruptions; may handle multiple calls and inquiries simultaneously; and may occasionally handle absentee replacement on short notice.
