Credit and Collections Manager develops and administers credit and collection programs. Oversees investigation of credit risk in customers and suppliers and advises on course of action for credit applications. Being a Credit and Collections Manager designs and implements processes to improve cash flow and reduce receivables. Monitors and negotiates the collection of overdue accounts. Additionally, Credit and Collections Manager monitors credit and collection processes and operations; makes recommendations on opportunities for improvement. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Credit and Collections Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Credit and Collections Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     JOB SUMMARY
    The incumbent, under the guidance of the Manager, Residential Collections, assists Equipment Operators in the collection and removal of waste from public locations in a safe manner.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
    Note: All City of Fort Smith positions require the employee to provide good customer service to both internal and external customers, maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees, and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive. Must show cooperation and respect to fellow employees and supervisors at all times. All other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor and/or department director.

    • Operate rear loader cart tipper.
    • Pick up trash, recycling and compost from residents and small businesses.
    • Learn routes in an efficient manner
    • Keep route, roadways and streets clean.
    • Assist in other duties as assigned.
    • Maintain knowledge of residential trash services
    • Answer or refer questions from customers.
    • Assigned specific routes.
    • Provide notices to customers on proper procedures.

    Minimum Qualifications
    • High school diploma or GED.

    • The incumbent should possess knowledge of the use of tools and equipment in the department.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills are also required for frequent contacts with the public/customers on a daily basis.

    POSITION DESIGNATIONS
    This position is designated as essential during inclement weather events. City services will be maintained during inclement weather, such as heavy snow or ice storms and all essential employees are expected to report to work due to the critical functions of the position. This position is not able to work remotely.

    This position does not have the potential to drive as part of their regular job duties.

    This position is designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is subject to random DOT drug and alcohol screenings and/or non-DOT drug and alcohol screenings (a safety/security sensitive position is one in which a momentary lapse in attention may result in injury or death of another person).

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, color, distance, and peripheral vision. Depth perception and the ability to adjust focus are also required.

    The employee is constantly required to lift up to 50 pounds.

    While performing the duties of this position the incumbent is exposed to outdoor weather conditions and is required to work near moving mechanical parts. The incumbent is also exposed to fumes or airborne particles and at risk of electrical shock and vibration. Work is semi-repetitive but requires concentration when loading to prevent damage or loss to specialized equipment.

    The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
