Credit and Collections Manager develops and administers credit and collection programs. Oversees investigation of credit risk in customers and suppliers and advises on course of action for credit applications. Being a Credit and Collections Manager designs and implements processes to improve cash flow and reduce receivables. Monitors and negotiates the collection of overdue accounts. Additionally, Credit and Collections Manager monitors credit and collection processes and operations; makes recommendations on opportunities for improvement. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Credit and Collections Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. · Provide leadership to staff to maximize their performance, help advance their growth and development, and achieve the credit union’s goals. Ensures performance issues are addressed and documented in a timely manner.
· Oversee day to day branch operations, ensuring all administrative and operational tasks are managed.
· Perform member service tasks such as opening new accounts and taking consumer loan applications, preparing the applications for a loan officer review, and closing loans.
· Responsible for the branch vault and are expected to cross-sell products.
· Hold employees accountable to all operational and organizational policies and procedures.
· Build strong relationships with new and existing members that lead to referrals and sales while creating a consistent level of service. Identify member needs and refer them to teammates to achieve the member’s goals.
· Drive key performance indicators (KPI) attainment in cross sales, accuracy and member service.
· Manage and analyze the security and safety of the branch and alert staff of any changes to the policies and procedures.
· Handle member requests in a timely fashion.
· Ensure timely completion of all branch audits and all documentation has been completed.
· Assist leadership in executing the budget and strategic plan of the branch.
· Participate in various community activities to promote and represent the credit union philosophy.
· Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or deemed necessary in order to meet the credit union’s goals and objectives.
