Credit and Collections Manager develops and administers credit and collection programs. Oversees investigation of credit risk in customers and suppliers and advises on course of action for credit applications. Being a Credit and Collections Manager designs and implements processes to improve cash flow and reduce receivables. Monitors and negotiates the collection of overdue accounts. Additionally, Credit and Collections Manager monitors credit and collection processes and operations; makes recommendations on opportunities for improvement. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Credit and Collections Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Credit and Collections Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Title: Collections Manager

    Reports to: Director of Library Services

    Status: Exempt


    Job Purpose:

    The Collections Manager maintains the integrity and accessibility of the library’s collections (both print and electronic) through the preservation, acquisition, payment and processing of materials (periodicals, books, databases, etc.) and institutional documents. The Collections Manager also curates various displays around the library, including the exhibits on the South Wall Gallery. The Collections Manager reports directly to the Director of Library Services, while working closely will all other members of the library staff and university community. An important part of the position is supporting the mission of the University and advancing the academic excellence and spiritual vitality of our University and students. Each employee plays an important role in the development of the Christian faith in our students.


    Essential Functions:

    Acquisition & Processing

    o Order, receive, and process library materials

    o Pay invoices in a timely manner

    o Serve as the primary contact for book, media, and periodical vendors

    o Maintain files for 3 years for all technical services purchases and correspondence

    o Acquires and processes materials that relate to the history of the university, including the students, alumni, faculty, staff, and administration.

    Collection Maintenance

    o Maintain periodicals collections, institutional archives, and special collections.

    o Catalogs and describes items and generates finding aids for discovery.

    o Develops and maintains the online institutional repository.

    o Prepares periodicals and campus publications for binding.

    • Curates the materials and spaces for university centers located in Kinlaw Library, such as the Joe Pitts Center for Public Policy and the Dennis F. Kinlaw Study Center as well as the various display cases around the building and the South Wall art gallery.
    • Prepares an annual summary, statistical and evaluative, of all activities.
    • Supervises and manages the technical services and archives student workers
    • Other duties as assigned

    Physical requirements:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift items, up to 25 pounds.


    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

    This is a full-time position, and normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5

    p.m. This position requires occasional additional hours and weekend work.


    Travel:

    No travel is expected for this position.


    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required.
    • Major or minor in library, management, business, or related discipline preferred.
    • Meticulous attention to detail.
    • Strong organization and managerial skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
    • Proven computer skills in Microsoft Office, specifically in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Prior experience working with library management software preferred.
    • CoA committed and dynamic Christian faith is vital with the ability to support the University’s theological position, lifestyle standards, and mission.

    Works independently, under the direct supervision of the Director of Library Services.

    Supervises a small group (4-6) of student workers who assist with Technical Services and Archival work.
