We are seeking an experienced Service & Support Director to support our Vista Care South Dakota operations.JOB TYPE: Full-timeBENEFITS: Health, dental, & vision insurance, 401K, PTO, and other company perks.LOCATION: Pierre, SDABOUT THE JOB:Under the direction of Vista Care’s Area Director, the Service & Support Director is responsible for the administration and support of day-to-day operations of Vista Care’s Direct Support Professional's (Caregivers). This position ensures the development of meaningful and impactful program supports based on both the individual’s needs as well as the Direct Support Provider's needs. Work is typically performed with the people supported in an administrative office, in group home settings, and in the community.
RESPONSIBLE TO:
The Service & Support Director reports to the Area DirectorPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:- Responsible for the overall quality of services provided and implementation of Visa Care's mission within their designated locations.
- Develop operational procedures as necessary and assigned consistent with regulatory standards and organizational policies and assure follow through.
- Oversee all follow-through on medical appointments, hospitalizations and emergency visits for persons served.
- Monitor program funds; including preparing and maintaining balance sheets of expenses.
- To maintain responsibility for the management and supervision of personnel within each of the programs managed.
- Assure the implementation of training of staff through orientation, staff meetings, in-services and training opportunities.
- Keep staff informed of issues and situations in the field, support services, and the community that may affect the program and/or organization.
- Monitor the physical site maintenance and improvement, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies, person served safety and organizational standards, taking immediate action to communicate maintenance issues and correct problems, as they occur.
- Provide leadership and direction in promoting the concepts, beliefs, and purposes of the program and organization.
- A 4-year degree and 1 year of related supervisor experience is preferred.
- An equivalent combination of 5 years of education and experience will be considered.
- Prior experience in residential services and supports for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as persons with behavioral challenges is desirable.
- Prior experience in de-escalation techniques preferred.
- Effective decision-making abilities
- Strong communication skill
- Strong computer literacy
- Superior problem-solving skills
- Must possess crisis intervention skills
- Must have the ability to bend, squat, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Prompt and regular attendance is required.
