Being a Critical Care Director ensures quality care to patients. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Critical Care Director typically reports to top management. The Critical Care Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Critical Care Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Nurses with a BSN and proven tenure in ICU Nursing, as well as progressive leadership, will earn a quick interview! CCRN’s will also stand out to the CNO, who this role reports to!  This Nurse Leader of Critical Care Services will have the Nurse Manager of Medical Surgical as well as ICU Nurse Managers reporting to them.  There will also be Nurse Educators for support.
