Under the direction of the area leadership, the purpose of this position is performing as a Paramedic in a prehospital / 911 setting. Employees in this classification perform highly skilled, technical level work. Position is responsible for providing emergency medical services. The position provides medical services, including response, assessment, treatment as authorized by SMOs, and transport. The employee must follow all policies as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures. Performs related duties as assigned.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Scheduling: 24-hour rotating schedule.
Environmental Factors: tasks may risk exposure to extreme heat/cold or extreme weather conditions, strong odors and/or smoke, strong and/or toxic chemicals, and dust or pollen.
The process consists of a leadership interview board. Candidates given a conditional offer of employment. Certification-appropriate system entrance skills/written testing will be required for out of system applicants.
