Position will be open until filled.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The School Crossing Guard or Relief for School Crossing Guard will
• Control and direct children safely through crosswalks
• Observes traffic
• Maintains time sheets, maintains attendance sheets, completes tracking records
• Be able to work in extreme weather conditions.
• Must have no convictions involving moral turpitude.
• Must be available for short notice calls to work.
• Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 8:15 am, and 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm.
• This is an on call position that requires the employee to provide a reliable automobile to transport crossing guard equipment to job site and cell phone to be reached for short notice calls to duty or calls for assistance in an emergency.
• Regular and timely attendance is required.
• Other duties as assigned,

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent.

Required Licenses or Certifications:

• Current and valid driver license.
• Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure.

Required Knowledge of:

• English language.
• Spanish helpful.

Required Skill in:

• Ability to read and understand the English language.
• Effectively communicate with children and adults.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic math.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

• Able to lift 10 to 15 lbs. overhead.
• Walk unassisted over uneven terrain.
