Crossing Guard jobs in Topeka, KS

Summary: 
The City of Lawrence is seeking School Crossing Guards. These are part-time temporary positions. Duties include facilitating safe passage at school crossings.  An employee in this class is responsible for directing children on foot and motor traffic at a street location where children cross when going to and from school. This crossing guard vacancy is expected to service Billy Mills Middle School.

Qualifications: 
The ideal candidate will be in good physical condition with no loss of sight or hearing, and will be able to stand for a long period of time in all weather conditions. This position requires the ability to attend occasional staff meetings.  This position also requires the ability to work independently and with little supervision. Prefer prior experience interacting with children in a leadership role.  Must be dependable and available to work until the end of the month of May 2024.

Hours: 
Approximately:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 7:45AM – 8:15AM and 3:00PM – 3:30PM
Wednesdays 7:45AM-8:15AM and 1:45PM - 2:15PM. 

Ending in May 2024. Reimbursed at 2.0 hours a day.

Salary: 

$13.60 per hour with $100 annual bonus for perfect attendance and an additional $100 annual bonus if asked to return to the position the following school year.  Paid 10 days a year when school is not in session. Holidays are not paid.
