Curriculum Manager manages the design and development of training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Oversees skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Curriculum Manager consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Curriculum Manager provides outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Participates in the selection of software or collaboration tools used for training. Establishes metrics used to evaluate training effectiveness and analyzes outcomes to determine ROI and recommend changes to programs. May select and manage vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Curriculum Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Curriculum Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • The College of Global Futures (CGF) is seeking a Curriculum Manager to help develop and manage innovative academic programs to cultivate learners to meet the global challenges of today and tomorrow.

We seek a candidate who possesses professional expertise in university curriculum planning, including tracking proposals through a complex curriculum development landscape at ASU. Candidates who have experience in growth-oriented organizations of higher education are sought. The ideal candidate will be skilled at communication, and will be a dedicated and detail-oriented manager who can multi-task and produce high-quality reports to ensure expectations are met within given ASU and ABOR guidelines, structure, and established policies.

    Essential Duties

    • Serve as the college’s main point of contact for the following curriculum-related systems and processes, working closely with others. Responsibilities include managing key processes, communicating key deadlines, monitoring approval processes, tracking progress, creating reports, identifying who needs access, and supporting training needs.
      • Kuali Curriculum Management - in line with ASU’s Academic Planning Cycle, Office of the University Provost, and Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR) requirements.
      • Program Assessment Plan Portal associated with the University Office of Evaluation and Educational Effectiveness (UOEEE) requirements.
      • Course Scheduling and Instructor Class Funding (ICF) associated with ASU Classroom Scheduling requirements
      • Course Evaluations associated with the Course Eval tool offered through the University Office of Evaluation and Educational Effectiveness (UOEEE)
    • Coordinate the College of Global Futures Curriculum Committee meetings.
    • Coordinate and lead meetings with curriculum and course scheduling staff from across the college.
    • Serve as our college’s liaison with the State Authorization Workgroup and coordinate responses to requests for additional information.
    • Create and maintain a master curriculum calendar with key dates and deadlines.
    • Monitor enrollment projections and understand the budget implications associated with academic programs and courses to make decisions that are fiscally responsible (e.g., program fees, revenue streams, instruction costs, and break-even points).
    • Identify gaps in curriculum processes at the college level, and propose solutions for streamlined communication with all stakeholders
    • Assume or coordinate other duties or projects as assigned or directed with the Associate Dean of Student Success

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND five (5) years of related administrative experience, which includes three (3) years of supervisory experience; OR, Nine (9) years of related administrative experience, which includes three (3) years of supervisory experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Demonstrated knowledge of undergraduate and graduate curricula, curricular policies, and procedures in higher education.
    • Experience with strategic thinking and planning
    • Demonstrated supervisory and/or leadership experience
    • Evidence of effective problem-solving and making decisions in a collaborative environment with faculty and staff, subject to changing priorities, cyclical deadlines, and potentially conflicting outcomes.
    • Experience with software and tools such as PeopleSoft, Ad Astra, CourseEval, Kuali, Google Suite, Airtable, Dropbox, Slack, MS Office (e.g., Outlook and Excel in particular), Data Analytics.
    • Experience with meeting deadlines, utilizing project management skills, and establishing priorities.
    • Experience with data analysis, enrollment projections, and understanding budget implications.
    • Evidence of effective writing and oral communication skills.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of hiring principles, FTE calculations, and employment renewal processes.
    • Evidence of being detail-oriented, skilled at multi-tasking, and enjoying problem-solving in line with organizational goals.

    Working Environment

    Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
