Curriculum Manager manages the design and development of training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Oversees skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Curriculum Manager consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Curriculum Manager provides outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Participates in the selection of software or collaboration tools used for training. Establishes metrics used to evaluate training effectiveness and analyzes outcomes to determine ROI and recommend changes to programs. May select and manage vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Curriculum Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Curriculum Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     QUALIFICATIONS:
    Must hold Kentucky teacher certification with proper endorsements from Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board with a Master's Degree in Education, plus five or more years responsible teaching experience in a Kentucky Public School System within the past decade. Must have the leadership skills necessary to effectively lead the staff in curriculum alignment and implementation in accordance with local and state goals (Reference to the Experienced Teacher Standards).

    Superintendent of Schools/Building Principal

    PRIMARY JOB GOAL:
    To assist the principal in the responsibility of promoting high achievement by each student and instructional excellence by each staff member in the school.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
    Comprehensive knowledge of principles and practices of modern public school education at all levels and the ability to apply them to the needs of the school district; knowledge of current curriculum and instructional practices; ability to plan, organize, and coordinate district educational goals at all levels; ability to work a flexible schedule in order to meet the demands of the job; ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing with all factions of the school community; ability to develop effective working relationships with the entire school community; commitment to education reform; knowledge of the laws, regulations, and statutes that govern all personnel issues and Federal Title I requirements.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Schedule at least 80% of time in all schools with teachers and principals planning, mentoring, coaching, and demonstrating best practices.
    • Assist in initiating and facilitating school based professional development and study groups assuring implementation of successful strategies.
    • Works with principals, classroom teachers, paraeducators and district level personnel in planning, implementing and coordinating the instructional programs effectively.
    • Attend seminars, workshops and conferences at the discretion of the building principal and/or district level instructional supervisors.
    • Locate new materials and resources.
    • Coordinate demonstrations of specific strategies focused on active learning.
    • Assist teachers in providing a variety of learning experiences for students.
    • Work with the district level curriculum and instruction team for instruction in completing necessary reports to state and local agencies.
    • Assist in completing staff development plans.
    • Assist in the implementation of plans and programs designed to promote and enhance the progress of all students and teachers (professional development, ESS, gifted/talented, and Title I programs and activities).
    • Work to increase parent understanding of and involvement in their child's education.
    • Not have an assigned classroom or routine staff assignments.
    • Provide assistance to teachers in planning and developing instructional strategies, aligning instruction, and incorporating the Core Content, Program of Studies and Academic Expectations into the instructional program at each level.
    • Attend professional development activities throughout the school year and provide continuous training for all staff members with follow up. These trainings will ideally become more job embedded by occurring during the school day.
    • Provide classroom demonstration lessons relating to appropriate methods of assessment, reporting and instruction.
    - Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with students.
    • Demonstrates positive interpersonal relations with staff.
    • Demonstrates positive collaborative relationships with other administrators.
    • Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with parents/community.
    • Provide and model writing activities that will help teachers guide students in becoming proficient writers.
    • Coordinate the GT program for the school.
    • Develops and models appropriate instructional strategies for gifted children.
    • Coaches classroom teachers in the implementation of effective teaching strategies as they relate to gifted students.
    • Communicates with parents, regular classroom teachers and administrators through conferences and other means to discuss pupils' progress and interpret the gifted education program.
    • Assist teachers in the process of differentiating instruction in classrooms for all students.
    • Performs related duties and assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superintendent.
