Curriculum Manager manages the design and development of training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Oversees skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Curriculum Manager consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Curriculum Manager provides outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Participates in the selection of software or collaboration tools used for training. Establishes metrics used to evaluate training effectiveness and analyzes outcomes to determine ROI and recommend changes to programs. May select and manage vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Curriculum Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Curriculum Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     POSITION TITLE:    Assistant Superintendent for Academic Services/Federal Programming

     

    REPORTS TO:         Superintendent 

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:                 

    • Appropriate state licensure
    • Minimum of three years teaching experience
    • Principal and district office experience required
    • A Masters degree in Educational Administration or Curriculum and Instruction is preferred
    • Administrative certification required 
    • Possess collaborative and interpersonal skills
    • Proven leadership skills

    AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

    1. Provide leadership and direction to the district’s entire educational program.
    2. Provide leadership and direction to the district’s professional and curriculum development, and assessment program.
    3. Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    1. Oversee the development, implementation and evaluation of district, state and federal programs that are related to the improvement of instruction.
    2. Develop, administer, and evaluate budgets for district, state and federal program curriculum, instructional programs, professional development, and support/special programs.
    3. Maintain communication with educational leaders at the local, state and national levels to stay current on educational issues.
    4. Monitor the curriculum development process.
    5. Approve course changes/program changes.
    6. Provide leadership and direction in the implementation of district assessment and evaluation programs.
    7. Assist Superintendent in the development of board policies and district procedures that maximize learning for all students and staff.
    8. Serve on committees and reports to the Superintendent.

    ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

    • Compiles and completes the Civil Rights report and supply copies to the appropriate personnel
    • Develops and implements a plan of action to comply with Title IX requirements and address grievances as addressed by School Board policy
    • Secures approval from the Superintendent and Board of Education before submitting final proposal for federally funded programs
    • Informs the principal and superintendent of the efforts of current and impending federal legislation
    • Attends meetings as assigned by the superintendent, principal, and state education officials pertaining to federal programs
    • Assures coordination between federally funded staff, regular staff, and parents in planning and implementing programs
    • Plans and implements a public information program for parents, teachers, administration, and the general public
    • Provides leadership in establishing local and district parent involvement
