ACADEMIC CURRICULUM COORDINATOR                                             WFSUM PA STUDIES, Boone Campus

The Wake Forest PA program within the Wake Forest University School of Medicine, has a rich history of producing highly capable and competent clinicians.  We are fortunate to have two campuses in North Carolina (Boone and Winston-Salem). The two-year PA program is divided into didactic/preclinical (1^st year) and rotation/clinical education (2^nd year). There are a total of 88 students in each class (64 on the Winston-Salem campus and 24 on the Boone campus).

The Department of PA Studies (DPAS) is seeking an academic curriculum coordinator who will be located on the Boone campus. The Academic Curriculum Coordinator, in collaboration with the Director of Didactic Education, will oversee all aspects of the 1^st year student experience.

The primary duties include: 

Integral Support:  Collaborating closely with program director, faculty, and students, you'll oversee critical operations spanning event management, communications, expense management, course scheduling, and evaluation. 

• Collaborate with Director of Didactic Education, Program Director and Course Directors for implementation and coordination of curricular initiatives 
• Curricular oversight of all campuses to ensure equity.  Ensure curriculum and schedules are up-to-date and accurate in Acuity (learning management system)  
• Coordinate and negotiate space, supplies, and equipment for curricular activities
• Oversee evaluation activities for preclinical year including end-of-unit exams and assessments 
• Collaborate with Center for Experiential and Applied Learning to obtain standardized patients for all campuses, schedule training, manage materials, schedule faculty and staff, proctor assessments, and collect data for program evaluation 

Leadership Role:  This role provides guidance and support  to ~ 90 students across two campuses ensuring academic success and growth

• Monitor curricular oversight of all campuses to ensure equity
• Provide data and reports for accreditation team. 

Team Collaboration: Beyond overseeing curricular components, this position supports the entire DPAS team during high-demand periods

• Coordinate and/or participate in events, including but not limited to, orientation, white coat ceremony, inter-professional activities, clinical year prep, hooding and awards ceremony

• Bachelor’s Degree 
• Two (2) years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

An ideal candidate will be a team player and will have:

• excellent written and verbal communication skills
• a high degree of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality
• excellent analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking and technical skills, specifically with Microsoft office suite products 
• ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Prior experience with learning management system is preferred but not required.
