Curriculum Manager manages the design and development of training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Oversees skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Curriculum Manager consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Curriculum Manager provides outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Participates in the selection of software or collaboration tools used for training. Establishes metrics used to evaluate training effectiveness and analyzes outcomes to determine ROI and recommend changes to programs. May select and manage vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Curriculum Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Curriculum Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     WHAT YOU’LL DO

    The College Readiness Curriculum Manager is a network role that is integral to fulfilling our mission of preparing all scholars for college graduation and life success. The manager oversees curriculum creation, innovation, planning, and research for THA’s College Readiness Program. The College Readiness Curriculum Manager contributes to the design of the curriculum and works directly with seminar teachers, advisory leads, and other staff within the Network and schools to ensure quality curriculum and instruction practices are occurring throughout the organization. Other focuses of the Curriculum Manager are to coach the teachers instructing the seminar classes, developing and leading professional development pertaining to college readiness curriculum, analyzing data to provide solutions to challenges, and ensuring there is alignment with scope and sequences. The manager will collaborate with the Director of College Readiness and other internal and external persons to carry out the vision of an aligned curriculum from 5th to 12th grade.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Curriculum Development: Design and develop high quality curriculum materials using backwards planning methods across various subjects and grade levels
    • Professional Development/Skill Building: Create and facilitate professional development that ensures successful implementation of curriculum across the network. Provide supplemental support to various stakeholders to skillbuild towards implementation of curriculum as needed (teachers, APs, Principals, etc.)
    • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, and devise systems of accountability to ensure successful implementation of curriculum
    • Feedback: Provide thorough and actionable feedback that drives towards successful implementation of high quality instructional materials across the network. Ensures that all teachers across the Network are implementing their specific curriculum to fidelity.
    • Quality Assurance: Create and/or revise curriculum materials to ensure alignment, accuracy, ease of use, consistency, and adherence to formatting and structural standards.

    Qualifications/Certifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s Degree Preferred)
    • Active state teaching certification is preferred

    Experience

    • 3 years of experience as a K-12 teacher
    • A proven track record of driving academic growth and achievement
    • Experience in curriculum supervision, design, or school leadership is preferred

    Role

    • Curriculum and Instruction Manager will work on THA’s Network Team and report to the Chief Academic Officer.
    • Full time, year round, exempt.

    Compensation and Benefits
