Curriculum Specialist designs and develops training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Conducts skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Curriculum Specialist consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Curriculum Specialist writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training. Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness. May collaborate with vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. May coach trainers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. ACADEMIC CURRICULUM COORDINATOR WFSUM PA STUDIES, Boone Campus
The Wake Forest PA program within the Wake Forest University School of Medicine, has a rich history of producing highly capable and competent clinicians. We are fortunate to have two campuses in North Carolina (Boone and Winston-Salem). The two-year PA program is divided into didactic/preclinical (1st year) and rotation/clinical education (2nd year). There are a total of 88 students in each class (64 on the Winston-Salem campus and 24 on the Boone campus).
The Department of PA Studies (DPAS) is seeking an academic curriculum coordinator who will be located on the Boone campus. The Academic Curriculum Coordinator, in collaboration with the Director of Didactic Education, will oversee all aspects of the 1st year student experience.
The primary duties include:
Integral Support: Collaborating closely with program director, faculty, and students, you'll oversee critical operations spanning event management, communications, expense management, course scheduling, and evaluation.
Leadership Role: This role provides guidance and support to ~ 90 students across two campuses ensuring academic success and growth
Team Collaboration: Beyond overseeing curricular components, this position supports the entire DPAS team during high-demand periods
