Curriculum Specialist designs and develops training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Conducts skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Curriculum Specialist consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Curriculum Specialist writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training. Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness. May collaborate with vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. May coach trainers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Curriculum Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Who We Are Looking For:

    ​We are currently looking for a Curriculum Development Manager to lead AOT’s curriculum strategy. Your day-to-day will include working with the National Program Director and regional program teams to audit and standardize our current curricula as well as leading future curriculum innovation, planning, and research with the support of subject matter experts.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • With National Program Director, develop blueprint for all future curriculum development that integrates AOT’s curriculum vision alongside organizational goals and core values
    • Lead audit of current curriculum, recommending and implementing next steps for standardization and adaptation, including integration of DOE and higher ed standards 
    • Organize current curriculum to support more streamlined and efficient program environment set-ups for future program cycles 
    • Develop a suite of templates and tools to inform future curriculum development projects
    • Work with content experts to develop new technical and professional curricula
    • Lead curriculum development projects and ensure AOT’s curriculum blueprint principles are observed at every stage of design and development
    • Serve as primary point of contact for program staff and instructional team members regarding curriculum questions and suggestions for improvement
    • Conduct regular quality checks and implementation audits to support program staff and instructional team with curriculum implementation
    • Collaborate with program leadership team to assist with the planning, development, and delivery of professional development sessions regarding curriculum 
    • As part of a growing organization, contribute toward the development of standard operating procedures in all areas of business, and continue to find new ways to improve quality and efficiency
    • Perform related duties as assigned, within your scope of practice and to support the growth of AOT

    Qualifications:
    • You have a relevant Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent professional experience
    • You have at least 2 years of curriculum development experience
    • You have expert-level knowledge of pedagogy and curriculum development and design
    • You have expert-level knowledge of online instructional design theories and learning style theories
    • You are detail-oriented and data-loving 
    • You have strong project management experience and can manage multiple projects and priorities seamlessly
    • You are the person that your colleagues naturally gravitate to when they are trying to figure something out
    • You are an excellent communicator - oral and written 
    • You have the ability to collaborate and work effectively on a multicultural team
    • You are motivated by a fast-paced work environment and are comfortable working through ambiguity 
    • You are proficient in Google Suite (especially Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Sheets and Google Classroom)
    • You have experience working in a remote environment and use of requisite tools (i.e. video conferencing, messaging, etc.)

    Preferred, but not required:
    • An understanding of and/or experience with key tech topics and subjects: coding/engineering, UX Design, Digital Marketing, Product/Project Management, Data Science, and/or Cybersecurity and Cloud
    • Experience instructing in-person and/or virtually 
    • Superior interpersonal, customer service and community relationship-building abilities
