Curriculum Specialist, Sr. designs and develops training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Conducts skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Curriculum Specialist, Sr. consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Curriculum Specialist, Sr. writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training. Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness. May collaborate with vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. May coach trainers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Curriculum Specialist, Sr. work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. A specialist on complex technical and business matters.     GCI's Specialist Sr, Supply Chain will provide key support for multiple functions in Supply Chain, including procurement, inventory control, provisioning, logistics, requisitions, and distribution. Maintain supply chain channels to reduce time and maintain optimal inventory levels.

    Essential Duties:

    Provisioning & Technical

    • Create, modify, and add services to accounts based on customer specification and internal direction.
    • Provision hardware, test, validate, and verify proper working order on a variety of devices including complex routers, cloud-voice equipment, prepaid products, rural broadband products, and more. Ensures that account or order status is accurately recorded in order systems.
    • Maintain asset management databases and control procedures.
    • Perform quality control inspections, status classifications and repair of returned inventory.
    • Maintain set top boxes, modems, wireless devices and Embedded Multimedia Adapters (EMTAs).
    • Assist in device troubleshooting.
    • Perform system health checks, burn in, testing, and configuration of all assets.
    • Monitor, research and correct integration issues between NC and Oracle systems.

    Logistics, Distribution, Requisitions and Asset Management

    • Maintain, process, and mail company inventory to new and existing customers.
    • Coordinate logistics to ensure satisfactory and timely asset replenishment.
    • Provide management and departments with asset and inventory management statistics.
    • Process returns and exchanges for warranty repair.
    • Facilitate statewide asset & inventory management programs.
    • Perform inventory counts and reconciliations.
    • Provide financial analysis of inventory, revenues, expenses and costs of goods sold.
    • Develop and coordinate business cases.
    • Develop and maintain rolling forecasts for device ordering needs and capital asset management.
    • Complete administrative functions to ensure accurate and timely daily, quarterly, and as-needed reports and forms.
    • Provide management and departments with analytics and documentation regarding asset & inventory management.
    • Query system reports, making necessary changes to maintain the integrity of the system(s).
    • Assist in courier duties.
    • Assist warehouse with shipping and logistics to ensure optimal cost savings.

    Knowledge, Skills and Ability:

    Demonstrates basic understanding and working knowledge of several areas of provisioning and support functions:

    • Familiarity with telecommunications or other technical products.
    • Knowledge or experience resolving wireless device issues.
    • Ability to multi-task with a high degree of accuracy and a strong degree of problem-solving skills required.
    • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate well with others in a team environment.
    • Strong verbal, written, and telephone communication skills and the ability to explain technical information to a broad customer base.
    • Ability to exercise sound decision and critical thinking skills.
    • Ability to work in a potentially stressful environment where timeframes are significantly shortened required.
    • Prior experience in a technical customer service environment preferred.
    • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook).

    Certifications: Industry specific certifications are highly valued and may contribute toward education or required experience.

    Additional Job Requirements: Fully proficient within the supply chain and provisioning field required to have an extensive knowledge of telecommunications processes proactively detect system issues, ability to isolate between internal workflows, provisioning systems, and network performance, taking corrective actions or notify and escalate to the appropriate departments for resolution. Works with minimal supervision and completes tasks on time with some latitude of judgement and mentors’ junior peers and supports management.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Minimum four years’ general work experience needed, some demonstrated proficiency in supply chain, logistics, warehouse, or procurement preferred.
    • Or a combination of college credits and/or related experience may substitute for minimum qualification. Knowledge and background experience in a relevant industry valuable.
    • Three years’ experience in a telecommunications industry or performing provisioning, asset management, and/or supply chain highly desired.
    • High School diploma or equivalent required.
    • Associate degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Computer Science, or related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

    Working Conditions: The work area must be quiet and free of distractions. Lighting must be adequate and without glare. Distracting noises should be kept to a minimum. The employee’s desk must be adequate, designed to safely accommodate the equipment the employee must use, e.g., computer, printer, keyboard, monitor etc. The employee must have reliable connectivity to the internet to access GCI via VPN. Employee workstation must comply with GCI’s ergonomics standards.  Work can be intense and stressful due to time/resource limitations when scheduling multiple tasks with inflexible deadlines. Must be able to work flexible hours including, but not limited to, overtime, weekends, holidays, evenings, before or after normal shift hours.

    Working Conditions if assigned to the GCI Warehouse: Most activities conducted inside under pleasant climatic conditions in a warehouse environment. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds following safety guidelines, greater weight using company safety protocol. Must be able to work flexible hours including, but not limited to, overtime, weekends, holidays, evenings, before or after normal shift hours and at other company locations. Occasional travel to other company facilities may be required.

    Additional Working Conditions if assigned to work from home:  Must be able to work flexible hours including but not limited to, overtime, weekends, holidays, evenings, before or after normal shift hours in Alaska Standard Time if required.

    The company and its subsidiaries operate in a 24/7 environment providing critical services to Alaskans and may need to respond to public health and safety matters or other business emergencies. Due to business needs employees may be contacted outside of the core business hours to respond to the immediate emergency. As such, you will be required to provide emergency after hours contact numbers, to include your home and cell phone numbers if you have those services.

    Driving Requirements (if applicable): Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a satisfactory driving record.
