Curriculum Specialist, Sr. designs and develops training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Conducts skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Curriculum Specialist, Sr. consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Curriculum Specialist, Sr. writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training. Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness. May collaborate with vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. May coach trainers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Curriculum Specialist, Sr. work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. A specialist on complex technical and business matters. Purchasing/ Sales Sr. Specialist

  • Position Summary

    Responsible for leading purchasing activities for sourcing and procurement of materials, purchase requisition review, supplier selection, order placement and follow up.  

    Essential Functions

    Corporate:

    • Adheres to the Hyundai Transys Georgia Powertrain (HTGP)  and procedures
    • Learns, demonstrates and upholds HTGP Core Values
    • Complies with all HTGP Certification standards; Management System (IATF16949), Environmental ISO 14001 and Health and Safety ISO 45001 policies and procedures
    • Treats all HTGP team members with respect and professional courtesy
    • Always strives to maintain a positive work environment
    • Manages the department budget efficiently as per approved annual budget
    • Performs additional assignments / duties as required by management

     

    EHS:

    • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures
    • Complies with all safety policies and 5S clean philosophy to maintain a safe, clean working environment
    • Consistently meets company safety goals

     

    Technical:

    • Monitors and troubleshoots U.S. Custom tariff issues and cooperate with Hyundai Transys Georgia Powertrain to match Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) code and Certification of Origin.
    • Source and procure materials, equipment and services that meet specifications and schedules in the most cost effective manner, taking into account price, schedule and delivery as well as past supplier performance and quality. 
    • Use the Vaatz System to Review and analyze purchase requisitions, investigate and develop sources of supplies, prepares Request for Quote (RFQ) and review and evaluate quotes.
    • Issue purchase orders in accordance with the company policies and procedures.
    • Expedite orders as required
    • Negotiate pricing with Vendors.
    • Follow up on Backorders daily.
    • Create and maintain vendor(s) in Vaatz and SAP.
    • Communicate to all group leaders, team leaders concerning Vaatz requirements.
    • Negotiate terms and conditions including material price with vendors for New Projects
    • Responsible for Project and Construction pricing comparison, then selecting Vendor and deciding price.
    • Create/maintain yearly Maintenance vendor contracts.
    • Create/maintain a Supplier Pool list in Vaatz.
    • Maintain the ACE portal for Customs Clearance.
    • Additional duties as assigned.

    Education

    • High School/GED
    • 4 Year Bachelor Degree or comparable background of work related experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Economics or Finance

    Position Requirements and Qualifications

    • 3 years’ experience in purchasing related experience (Automotive industry preferred)
    • Knowledge of Purchasing guidelines and programs
    • Knowledge of U.S. Custom regulations and recommendations
    • Experience with Purchasing systems 
    • Self-motivation and ability to work with little direction 
    • Excellent oral communication and listening skills
    • Outstanding organizational skills

    Qualifications

    • Must be at least 18 years of age. 
    • Must be eligible to work in the United States and possess the basic ability to read, write and communicate in English. 
    • Must satisfactorily complete HTGP hiring process requirements, which includes phone interview, in-person interview, medical and functional assessment, drug screen and background check. 
    • Candidates must be able to work some overtime hours and occasional weekend days. 
    • Candidates must be capable of working on their feet for long periods, demonstrating hand dexterity and tolerating repetitious work patterns.
