Curriculum Specialist, Sr. designs and develops training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Conducts skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Curriculum Specialist, Sr. consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Curriculum Specialist, Sr. writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training. Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness. May collaborate with vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. May coach trainers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Curriculum Specialist, Sr. work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. A specialist on complex technical and business matters. Course Control Document (TCCD), Test Plan, Test Administrators Guide, student guides, instructor guides, tests, exams, Computer Based Training (CBT),
Computer Aided Instruction (CAI), Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI), Interactive Courseware (ICW), PowerPoint (PPT) presentations, Instructor
Guided Reviews (IGR), flight event grade cards, simulator event grade cards, simulator event briefing guides, training materials, media, devices (Flash
Cards), exercises for simulators or actual aircraft or equipment. All curriculum will be developed IAW NETC, CNRFC, NATOPS (as applicable)
guidance.
Requires a minimum of 2 years' specialized experience as a Course Curriculum Specialist and general experience with:
Authoring Instructional Materials (AIM) Content Planning Module/Learning Object (CPM/LO), Catalog of Navy Training Courses (CANTRAC), enterprise Naval Training Reservation System (eNTRS), Corporate enterprise Training Activity Resource System (CeTARS), Fleet Training Management and Planning System (FLTMPS), and Standard Training Activity Support System (STASS).
Must have the ability to provide data entry services entering approved course information into and any other identified electronic systems as required by CNRFC and higher authority.
