Custom Glass Processor

About the Role:

The Custom glass processor position is responsible for the purchasing and management of all stock glass products for the Branch from both domestic and international vendors. Additional responsibilities also include managing the local day to day glass purchasing department in the branch for custom/nonstock glass products used to fulfill customer orders.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

· Works with Plant Manager in the purchasing of all stock/case glass inventory for the Branch.

· Ensuring that FIFO and cycle counting company principals are following and maintained for all glass products.

· Responsible for the timely and accurate receipt of all glass purchases in Sage.

· Figures custom glass sizes for customer orders based on standard company formulas and deductions.

· Oversees scrap reporting (Glass) at the branch level.

· Manages and oversees the daily purchasing of custom glass for the branch ensuring the glass is ordered timely and correctly to meet customer lead times.

· Provides direction, development and leadership between the branch custom glass ordering and receiving departments.

· Manages glass vendors and ensure vendor audits are performed routinely in compliance with company policies and guidelines.

· Ensures that reserve inventory and safety stock minimums are maintained to meet business demand.

· Confirms that glass costs are updated daily in company ERP system for all back to back purchase orders.

· Oversees the glass receiving department and makes sure that all quality control protocols on all custom glass including but not limited to measuring, inspecting for defects, polishing and or buffing out light scratches are maintained and performed to company specifications.

· Purchases and maintains inventory for all glass scratch removal systems used in distribution facilities.

· Handles all claims and returns of custom glass that does not meet the company’s quality standards and are not repaired and ensures all credits are applied timely. Vendor returns.

· Ensures all backorders are identified and communicated to the customer service department and that all paperwork is noted accordingly.

· Works with accounting to reconcile monthly statements.

· Additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

· High School diploma required associate degree a plus.

· 1 or more years of experience working in a business environment with knowledge of inventory or purchasing.

· Experience in the glass industry or a related field preferred.

· SAGE X3 experience preferred.

· Proven experience of working with other departments within an organization to coordinate supplies needed.

· Solid verbal/written communication skills.

· Strong math skills and the ability to apply them to the construction industry.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a can-do attitude.

· Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.

· Experienced user of MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

· Collaborative team member with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.

· Must work well under pressure.
