What we need…

The Health Information Operations Supervisor (HIOS) is responsible for client/customer service and serves as a knowledge expert for the Health Information Specialists (HIS) staff. The role focuses on front line people management and training, as well as ensuring processes are completed in compliance with established guidelines. This role may also assist leadership with planning, developing, and implementing departmental or regional projects. This role provides support to the Health Information Operations Manager. The HIOS will be responsible for maintaining workflow and productivity of HIS as well as handling escalated situations and driving a positive work environment. The HIOS will also assist in the new hire process, meeting with clients, and developing staff at one or more sites.

Position Highlights... 

• Hybrid position (2-3 days per week onsite)
• This position supports sites in Bakersfield and Valencia
• Full-time, Monday – Friday, ~8:00am – 5:00pm

Responsibilities

What you will do…

• Have a passion to lead, train and motivate a growing team.
• Communicate and collaborate with leadership on issues, opportunities, or challenges.
• Lead Audit Team which receives requests from Payors
• Review data and provide client and leadership solutions
• Be comfortable bringing new ideas, process improvement suggestions, and feedback to internal stakeholders.
• Manage requests coming in from the client's Risk Management Team
• Be the leader of client locations and plan for fluctuating needs.
• Oversee escalation calls from Datavant's centralized call centers
• Participate in project teams and committees to advance operational strategies and initiatives
• Coordinate with client management on complex issues while building a strong relationship

Qualifications

What you need…

• A true leadership philosophy in which the goal of the leader is to serve
• Ability to support clients and your team working both onsite and remotely.
• 1 years of Health Information related experience
• Well-versed with HIPAA standards.
• A knack for presenting to leadership, clients, and your team both in-person and remotely
• Solution provider and forward thinking
• Detail and quality oriented as it relates to accurate and compliant information for medical records.
• Power BI, MS Office

What makes you stand out...

• EMR experience with EPIC, Meditech, or Cerner.
• Previous production/metric-based work experience
• Team building and experience elevating individuals’ careers.

Working conditions & physical demands

Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions.  Must have the ability to stand and sit frequently throughout an eight-hour period, reach horizontally and vertically for overhead use.  Must be able to use a telephone or headset equipment.  Incumbent must be able to lift 20 lbs., perform work at a computer terminal for 6-8 hours a day, and function in an environment with constant interruptions. This is a hybrid role supporting the Kern Medical Hospital in Bakersfield, CA and the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in Valencia, CA. This role requires onsite work at least 3 days per week with visitations to each site at least once per week. On work from home days, this position requires that you provide a high-speed internet connection, and a work environment free from distractions.
