Customer Information Center Supervisor supervises a team that is responsible for analyzing contact center patterns, including volumes, trends, attrition rates, and contact center representative productivities. Configures the Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) system to automatically distribute calls uniformly among representatives. Being a Customer Information Center Supervisor monitors the productivity of customer service representatives. Ensures customer satisfaction by overseeing the call volume and redirecting inbound traffic as needed. Additionally, Customer Information Center Supervisor reviews call volume reports to coordinate and complete capacity planning within the contact center and identify potential problems. Evaluates historical and recent performance and statistics to identify trends. May act as a resource for more complex questions. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Customer Information Center Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Customer Information Center Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     The tuition-free Adult Career Training Program provides Kent County adults experiencing under- or unemployment a pathway to income stability and long-term family economic security through career training and leadership development. The program offers training in Health Information, Pharmacy Technician, and Cybersecurity. Through professionally led instruction, Leadership by Design personal and professional development curriculum, externships with local employers, and on-site supports, students prepare to take certification exams and enter their new career field. 

    Position Description 

    The Health Information Instructor provides career training for students in the Adult Career Training Program studying health information through academic instruction, exam preparation, experiential learning, and externship experience coordination. An integral member of the Workforce Development team, the instructor curates a culture of trust and encouragement in the classroom and is part of the students’ team of support.  

    The ideal candidate is committed to providing quality, student-centered experiences; is able to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders both internally and externally, building positive relationships with staff, students, and partners; and is energized by leveraging career training to build income security with students.  

    *Classes in the Health Information pathway of the Adult Career Training Program run from September through June each year. Administrative duties and alumni support including coordinating and facilitating Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification bootcamps are expected throughout the whole year. The Health Information Instructor schedule and compensation are based upon the following approximate annual schedule:  

    • July – August: Prepare curriculum partner development. 
    • September - May: Health Information instruction externship employment support. 
    • Class Schedule: 
      • In-person instruction: Monday to Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. 
      • Virtual instruction: Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 
      • Instructor Hours: Available for student support, preparation, and administrative tasks Monday to Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 
    • May - July: Coordinating facilitating CPC certification bootcamps and employment support. 

     

    Essential Duties Responsibilities 

    Instruction 

    • Plan, prepare, and deliver quality classroom instruction utilizing a variety of course materials and teaching methods that meet the needs of all learners. 
      • Provide relevant experiential learning opportunities to prepare students to work in the health information field (medical administration, medical billing, and medical coding). 
      • Empower students to embrace health information as a career pathway for income security. 
      • Prepare students to take the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) exam and Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) exam. 
      • Integrate the concepts introduced in Leadership by Design into the classroom. 
      • Assist in the achievement of the educational goals of each student, including providing small group/individual instruction as required when time permits. 
      • Offer advice and guidance on career development, job search strategies, and professional growth opportunities in the health information field. 
      • Hold mandatory office hours to provide additional support and assistance to students outside of regular class time. 
    • Plan, prepare, and deliver a quality CPC preparation bootcamp to WMCAT alumni utilizing a variety of course materials and teaching methods that meet the needs of all learners. 
      • Lead recruitment efforts to attract alumni to the CPC preparation bootcamp. 
      • Create and update curriculum materials for the CPC preparation bootcamp, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices. 
      • Facilitate engaging and interactive instruction sessions to teach alumni the necessary skills and knowledge required to pass the CPC exam. 
      • Offer advice and guidance on career development, job search strategies, and professional growth opportunities in the healthcare coding field. 
    • Demonstrate effectiveness with strong outcomes in student retention, student success, and student attendance. 
      • Maintain accurate records of performance, evaluation, and attendance for each class. 
      • Evaluate student progress and provide feedback in a timely manner. 
    • Coordinate, manage, and connect coursework to an externship experience for students. 
    • Stay current on changes and developments in the field of health information through professional memberships, relationships in the field, and publications — and incorporate them into instruction. 
    • Attend regular instructor meetings and annual program events (Mix Mingle student networking event, graduation, open houses, etc.). 

     Student Support 

    • Work closely with program staff to assess and address individual student needs and make referrals when appropriate.  
    • Maintain caring and trusting relationships with students, and provide supportive, fair, and non-discriminant treatment of all students. 
    • Connect with alumni and provide ongoing job support, resources, and employment opportunities.
