Customer Segment Manager is responsible for all customer segment group research including extracting customer data and analyzing profiles to determine market segment requirements. Develops targeted product offerings or marketing campaigns based on customer profiles. Being a Customer Segment Manager provides information to sales and marketing teams to assist in the promotion of the organization's goods and/or services. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Customer Segment Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Customer Segment Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in related field AND 2-4 years of job-specific and related experience in manufacturing sales and marketing OR;
· Associate Degree (AS) in related field AND 4-5 years of job-specific and related experience in manufacturing sales and marketing OR;
· Must possess demonstrated analytical capability; ability to work independently and as a team; excellent written and oral communication; ability to inspire and motivate others; and proficient computer skills, specifically in Microsoft office applications, enterprise resource planning systems and financial systems experience is required.
Primary Roles & Responsibilities
· Annual Associate performance evaluations
· Budget and purchase order approvals
· Complete and submit obsolescence claim form to customer when needed
· Complete required customer surveys
· Develop strategy and planned actions to pursue requests for proposals
· Execute, track and report activities to support specific business plan policy and targets
· Facilitate Department meetings
· Maintain daily contact with customers by telephone, email, and meeting attendance regarding, mass production, shipping, quality, design and financial needs
· Maintain North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) documentation and customer reporting
· Manage Department
· Negotiate and track customer cost down
· Negotiate production sales pricing with customer
· Negotiate tooling sales price with the customer
· Organize and facilitate customer top management meeting each year
· Prepare and distribute internal new business form or build out form
· Prepare monthly and yearly forecasts
· Prepare production and event customer quotations in specific customer format based on requests for proposal
· Prepares and maintains departmental organizational chart
· Report and track raw material adjustment with customers
· Review customer new business award letter, authorize and return to customer
· Risk assessments
· Overtime may be assigned
· Travel is highly likely or 50% of the time per month, but more may be requested by Leadership
· Training needs are based on training matrix for this position, relevant to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems
· Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
· Associate must be able to occasionally lift up to 40lbs in single or multiple lifts. Associate must be able to occasionally push/pull up to 100lbs. Associate will frequently bend, twist, turn, squat kneel, overhead reach, climb stairs, and pinch grip small objects for up to 4 hours per day. Typical work environment includes; sitting, typing, writing in an office setting 7 hours per day and standing in manufacturing areas 2 hours per day. Associate must have a valid driver’s license. Idle time between job tasks is likely to exist. Break/Lunch periods are typical in a 9 hour day.
