The Customer Service Desk Representative is responsible for providing and maintaining high standards of customer service in the store's front-end operations. The Customer Service Representative will supervise and direct all front-end/customer service activities such as change withdrawals, lottery, shift changes, and all other front-end related duties. It is essential that as a Customer Service Representative, you will present yourself in a professional and courteous manner at all times while performing your defined responsibilities.  You are responsible for always maintaining our high standards of Customer Service.  Other duties may be assigned as required, depending upon the available time, business volume and other criteria as determined by your appropriate supervisors and/or Gerrity’s Supermarkets.  Full compliance with current and future policies will be required to ensure that your work contribution is in the best interest of Gerrity’s Supermarkets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Possess the knowledge of the complete register system
• Greet Customer when approaching your work station
• Be aware and knowledgeable of all store sponsored promotions, further communicate all store sponsored promotions to our customers
• Will communicate all promotional and/or company policies or changes of policy to all appropriate Front End Personnel
• Operate cash registers and bag groceries as needed
• Assist with return transactions, lottery, and any other cash office needs.
• Attendance at your job is essential to the overall function of your department
• Be responsible and accountable for your drawer
• Keep your work station and Front End area in a neat and organized manner
• Will comply with all policies contained within the Employee Handbook
• All areas as designated within the Essential Functions of your job responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 2-3 years of Customer Service or Retail Experience
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must be able to move and/or lift 30 lbs
• Ability to hear, speak, and understand the spoken word
• Flexible availability
• Ability to read, write, analyze, interpret and understand the English language with sufficient proficiency in order to read and understand
• Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift
• Must be able to calculate figures, amounts, discounts, and percentages
