Job Description

The Pocatello Grocery Outlet Bargain Market is looking for fun and hard working individual who possess knowledge around plants and flowers. This individual will primarily work our outdoor floral area during the spring and summer season ( April to July) and will also be trained to work as a cashier outside of the above mentioned season. The ideal candidate enjoys interacting with people, can work under pressure, is inquisitive, and most importantly has a positive can-do attitude and takes pride in their work.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Greeting customers and answering questions
• Properly caring and maintaining all plants and flowers
• Identifying the prices of goods and calculating bills
• Receiving payment by credit card, debit card, cash, check, vouchers, or automatic debits
• Issuing change, credit, and refunds
• Issuing receipts
• Keeping drawer currency sorted and organized

Job Requirements

• Knowledge in caring for plants and flowers and able to thoroughly answer questions for customers regarding their care and proper maintenance.
• Able to deliver friendly, courteous, prompt customer service
• Able to read, write, and do simple math problems
• Able to interpret, understand and follow instructions
• Must be available to work some evenings until 930 p.m. and be available to work some mornings as early as 7:30 a.m.
• During the Spring and Summer season, must be available to work mainly mornings and early afternoons.
• Must be available to work Saturday AND Sunday

Preferred Qualifications

• Able to work well with others as a team member
• Previous cashier experience (preferred, not necessary)
• A passion for serving people

Work Conditions

During the spring and summer season, this individual will mainly work outside. When working as a cashier, duties are performed primarily in the front of the store at the registers. This individual may be exposed to various temperature changes and work environments. Work includes walking, standing, lifting, moving, carrying, and stocking product, along with interaction with customers and fellow associates.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $11.00 - $13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 28 per week
