FL-DOH-Marion County-Dental Assistant - Projected end date 6/30/24 - Opportunity to become permanent. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred. Pediatric Experience highly preferred.
WORK ENVORNMENT: Marion County Health Department or alternating school site locations.
DRESS CODE: Scrubs
TRAVEL: 10% of the time. May be assigned to a school site. Can ride with a state employee in a state vehicle. Normally will be an elementary school. Will be at the school for the entire day, not travel required during business hours.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
DENTAL TREATMENT
- ** Expanded duties as licensed by the board of professional regulations for certified dental assistant
- ** Will polish clinical crowns of teeth
- ** Will apply topical fluoride gels and varnish
- ** Will place temporary restorations and sealants
- ** Will remove sutures
- ** Will fabricate temporary crowns, pack cord and cement temporary crowns
FOUR HANDED DENTAL TECHNIQUE
- ** Will review medical history with the patient/guardian and take blood pressure
- ** Will complete the signs and symptoms and objective data of the SOAP notes and write up in the computer notes
- ** Will use proper barrier techniques
- ** Will pass instruments while correctly retracting tongue and/or cheek and while suctioning
- ** Will coordinate assisting methods, activities and actions with dentist’s actions
- ** Will adjust equipment and light source as needed by dentist
- ** Will mix restorative materials and cements
PROPER OPERATORY SETUP
- ** Will ensure instruments and equipment are out and in place before patient arrives
- ** Must be able to lift at least 10 pounds
RADIOGRAPHS
* ** Will maintain radiographic certification as licensed by the Board of Professional Regulations
** Will use ScanX phosphoric plates and EagleSoft software
