Customer Service Director directs and oversees all aspects of an organization's customer service policies, objectives, and initiatives. Develops service level standards focused on reducing response times and providing high customer satisfaction. Being a Customer Service Director establishes policies and procedures that produce high quality customer service delivery and that reflect industry best practices. Implements systems to capture and report on service metrics, including any customer feedback or trends in product or service issues. Additionally, Customer Service Director manages resource decision-making and planning. Aligns customer service activities and initiatives to support and enhance the objectives of the organization. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Customer Service Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Customer Service Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Description

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the lobby area.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
    2. Conduct interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships.
    3. Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA.
    4. Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
    5. Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services.
    6. May hand out locker keys and towels; may monitor the locker rooms as required.
    7. Actively participates in membership growth.
    8. Adheres to association and position training requirements.
    9. Work various hours and locations to meet association needs.
    10. Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

    Qualifications


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Certifications required within 60 days of hire: CPR/AED, and First Aid.
    2. Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
    3. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic
      segments of the community
    4. Previous customer service, sales or related experience.
    5. Basic knowledge of computers.
    6. Minimum age 16
