Cytotechnologist examines cells of the cytoplasm and nucleus to determine pathological conditions. Separates sediment and cells from blood serum and categorizes slides and records classification. Being a Cytotechnologist receives and prepares specimens for analysis. Detects abnormalities and communicates to pathologist to arrive at a final diagnosis and report. Additionally, Cytotechnologist requires a bachelor's degree. Requires graduation from an approved school of cytotechnology and American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) or I.C.A. registration. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Cytotechnologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.   • A rapidly growing integrated non-profit health system serving Southeastern OH is seeking Medical Technologists at their facility.

    The facility is the largest healthcare provider in its six-county region of southeastern Ohio, which includes Muskingum, Morgan, Perry, Coshocton, Noble and Guernsey counties.

    Some of the services include open-heart surgery, trauma care, a Level II special care.

    The ideal candidate will prepare, exam, and provide diagnostic judgment on gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens received for cytology evaluation.
     
    Responsibilities:
    Operates all cytology related equipment, process GYN specimens, prepare non-Gyn specimens according to specimen type and characteristic, and assist on fine needle aspirates.
    Keeps accurate records, to include release and reporting of test information via the laboratory information system.
    Responsible for QA statistics reporting including workload, discrepancies, rescreening results, and five years look back.
    Maintains knowledge of CPT codes for professional billing.
    Provides assistance in area of Cytoprocessing.
    Maintains knowledge and assists in complying with all regulatory agencies including CAP, HFAP, OSHA, and HIPPA.
    Maintains the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
    Performs other functions as assigned.
     
      
    Minimum Qualifications:   
    Completion of an accredited CT program, CT (ASCP) or registry eligible.
    Excellent interpersonal, decision-making, and investigative skills.
    Demonstrated excellence with listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
    Ability to provide outstanding customer service and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
    Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and under pressure in a complex and changing work environment.
