General Job Summary: Contributes in the delivery of excellent orthopaedic care in a patient centered environment while focusing on their individual needs.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assists with training new staff including physicians on DME products.
- Assist patients, staff, and physicians with applying and fitting the DME product according to given instructions
- Responsible for filling out, reviewing, and distributing paperwork for accuracy.
- Responsible for using the Breg Vision software to meet Medicare Compliance Standards
- Responsible for inventory management. Including ordering, stocking and cycling supplies and medications.
- Inspects and maintains autoclaves, cast saw vacuums, and other equipment.
- Coordinating quarterly inventory counts for each location.
- Responsible for trouble shooting any and all problems that affect DME.
- Responsible for ensuring items received match items ordered and cross-referencing items dispensed with the bill.
- Responsible for the patient education of their DME product.
- Perform clinical duties as necessary.
- Assist patients with personal hygiene needs as warranted.
- Assists with outside vendor relations.
- Directs External DME orders to the appropriate vendors.
- Demonstrated passion for excellence with respect to treating and caring for customers.
- Understanding of physicians surgical protocols in regards to required Durable Medical Equipment
- Maintain records within the company Electronic Health Record System (EHR).
- Assist patient with direction to resolve billing problems.
- Conducts monthly OSHA rounds at assigned locations.
- Compliance with HIPAA, OSHA and safety standards of organization.
- Ensure certification is current and up to date.
- Takes initiative in performing additional tasks that may be necessary or in the best interest of the practice.
Requirements:
Education/Experience: High school diploma. Registered/Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Orthopaedic Technician or Athletic Training certification required. Two to three years of previous clinical experience preferred. CPR/AED and First Aid certification required.
Other Requirements: Schedules will change as department needs change, including overtime and weekends. Travel as needed.

- Ability to educate patients, family members, coworkers and providers on DME product.

- Ability to recognize and correct hazardous conditions.
- Ability to share expertise and knowledge with staff to maintain and improve workflow.
Equipment Operated: Standard medical exam and office equipment.
Work Environment: Medical office and exam/procedure room settings.
Mental/Physical Requirements: Must be able to use appropriate body mechanics techniques when making necessary patient transfers and helping patients with walking, dressing, etc. Must be able to remain focused and attentive without distractions (i.e. personal devices). Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. .
