We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing Specialist to join our team. As a Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing for medical services. This is a crucial role in our organization as it directly impacts our revenue cycle management. Duties:
- Review and verify accuracy of billing data
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies
- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials
- Resolve billing discrepancies and issues
- Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical coding systems (ICD-10, ICD-9, DRG)
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines
- Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile accounts receivable

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; or certificate
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing or related field; not required but preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical office systems and procedures
- Proficiency in medical coding (CPT, HCPCS) and medical terminology
- Familiarity with insurance guidelines and reimbursement processes
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
