Dairy Processing Equipment Operator jobs in Johnstown, PA

Description

It is the responsibility of the Equipment Operator to operate various saw equipment and/or ultrasonic welding to prepare material to proper sizes and quantities in accordance with work orders, bills of material, manufacturing specifications and Engineering drawings. 

• Reads and interprets production work instructions, production orders, Bill of Material/Operations, and quality plans.
• Sets up and operates the ultrasonic welder and saws in accordance with work instructions/work orders. 
• Verifies seam type requirements based on work orders and cuts using handheld rotary shears if necessary.
• Uses and maintains automatic band saws for optimum performance.
• Works in a timely manner to meet production schedules.
• Picks material from storage rack or shuttle locations.
• Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions including safety rules and uses all appropriate safety equipment.
• Accepts cross training and job re-assignments as directed.
• Uses fixed and variable measurable equipment.
• Follows housekeeping rules and directions.
• Regular and timely attendance and works overtime as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate.

Must adhere to all safety rules in force for the location you are in while performing your job responsibilities. Must meet requirements for PPE in specific manufacturing areas when you are in those areas including safety shoes and safety glasses.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
• Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  
• Prior saw or machine operation experience is preferred.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions finished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Experience in fluid power industry and/or manufacturing environment is preferred.
